Rosie Stands Behind Meredith Baxter
Family Ties mama Meredith Baxter is receiving a lot of praise for her bravery in coming out of the closet this week.
And many celebrities have come out in support of her decision to share her secret.
This afternoon, Rosie O’Donnell gave an interview about her friend and the support she is offering to her:
“I called her up and told her she was fantastic and congratulations and she did really well and that I was proud of her. We had a little chat, and it was lovely, because I fell in love with her in 1972 with [TV show] Bridget Loves Bernie. An Irish and a Jewish — that was a big deal back then. It was too controversial for more than one season. And then I loved her on Family Ties. And I love her still. I think she’s great.”

I find it slightly ridiculous that the bisexual community who is begging for equality has to make such a big deal about "coming out". Hey everyone Im coming out straight! Im coming out that Im dating a black guy and Im a chinese chick. Perhaps if people just went about their lives and relationships and didnt make "coming out" such a spectacle then others wouldn't think of it as a bad thing or something to fear and then maybe marriages between loving couples regardless of gender would no longer be an issue.

The controversy about the show was that it was a Catholic chick and a Jewish dude, not Irish and Jewish. There are Irish Jews. But take heart, gay people, my parents were married in 1948 and had a "mixed marriage" - my Mom was United Methodist and my Dad was Catholic, and it has taken quite a few years but no one thinks twice about it now. It is just going to take longer than you would like it to be. Look how long it took to have interracial marriages be legal. I mean, I'm straight and don't know any gay people who want to get married so I don't really have a horse in this race, but I'm really stoned and wanted to correct Rosie and then went off on a tangent.
It's not like Rosie wins the toaster for Baxter's coming out.

I can't stand this fat fukkkkk. Her voice even annoys me. She acts like she is our conscious and we should follow her lead. I watched her documentary about the cruise and thought that was a wonderful experience for all, but come to find out it was put together by Kelly. Hate her and everything about her.
