Taylor Lautner is officially Hollywood's latest It Boy!
The Twilight star has been cast as the lead of Paramount's upcoming superhero action flick, Max Steel!
Based on the Mattel franchise, Max Steel is the story of a "19-year-old extreme sports junkie recruited by a secret agency after an accident infects his body, leaving him with superhuman powers," which we're positive Lautner will have no trouble portraying.
He's already got the bod for it!

I'm a fan, but this seems like a lame movie. Also, the same producers made GI Joe, which was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. And the director has done nothing impressive. He is involved in the production of White Chicks 2.

I have no idea if Master Lautner has any *real* acting talent (as opposed to posing talent, which he seems to do quite well). The movie project sounds like it is being made solely for the marketing opportunities - young men who like so-called "extreme sports" are highly coveted by marketers, because they are at the point where they are locking in their brand loyalties.

At least they are casting true-to-age, as Master Lautner will have just turned 18 when the project starts to film. I hate it when Hollywood has 29 year old actors playing teens.

Master Lautner does have distinctive looks - they don't appeal to me, but I can see where others would find him very attractive. And, at least his muscular frame is the result of legitimate weight training, unlike the fake "muscles-in-a-bottle" that Poof Petunia Efron "developed" for "17 Again".

Re: truth in life – You're 100% right - the kind of boys that see their favorite movies multiple times won't go to see Lautner. But they WILL show up for the extreme sports stuff. Corporate sponsors like Sprite and Mountain Dew will compete fiercely for the product placement rights. And Master L. won't make a big salary, but he will make a bundle on the merchandising. He will be able to afford to take that Swift chick to a better class of sushi bar than Benihana.
Max Steel is not that famous. They sould do a Teen Titans movie and cast him as Speedy or something.

3. Lautner might have made a lot of money, but taxes, agent and manager fees have probably eaten up about half of that money. Of the remaining money, half is the property of his parents, and the other half is held for him in trust accounts. He may not get full control of those accounts until he's 25 or even 30 years old. Google the words "Jackie Coogan Law" to learn about these trust accounts.

Oh for the love of God, why oh why can't he try out for roles that don't like like if he had another brain cell it would be lonely ? It's only natural he'll target roles that highlight the body because his face will never make him millions. That said, the guy is SMALL, will this superhero be standing on a box for this movie ? At the end of the day, it's a probably a massive amount of pressure for such a young guy because he will be expected to draw in the masses to recoup money spent on mass CGI etc and will it really test his acting skills ? Nope, but that's probably the whole point………

I like this. You know he's not just sticking to one thing. You know he's not just sticking to Twilight. Kristen and Rob are only doning Twilight, with the exception of THe Runaways for Kristen but still thats it. Taylor on the other hand is doning Twilight, Valentine's Day, and now this. He's making a solid career for himself. People aren't just gonig to remember him as Jacob Black the werewolf. He'll be Max Steel superhero, Sharkboy superhero, Elliot Mertaugh kid, and Jacob Black. That's good. Rob and Kristen are only ever going to be know as Bella and Edward. Unless People stick to Cedric Diggory for Rob. But i can tell. Taylor is going a long way. Definately
