to be honest, vintage mariah is the best. Every time the radio plays one of her early songs (all those before Glitter) i cannot help but marvel at the strength, clarity, range and simplicity of her voice, how she pulls and controls her voice and makes the song hers. Nowadays she sings in spurts and pauses and inserts so many 'styles' that there isnt any part of the song where her voice is really featured. Shame.
