Lenny Kravitz Taking Over Steven Tyler's Job?
With all the confirmations and denials of Aerosmith breaking up former Geffen exec John Kaldoner, who's responsible for the band's 80s revival, is pushing the band to continue on without Steven Tyler and find a replacement.
So who does he think the new front man should be?
Giving his two cents on the situation, Kaldoner says:
"I was talking to Marty Frederickson about this because he co-wrote 'Jaded' and worked with them for 10 years or so. We were talking about how no one can replace Steven Tyler, but the only person he said - and I agreed with - that could even make Aerosmith anything would be Lenny Kravitz."
Joe Perry and bandmate Brad Whitford have confirmed they are searching for a replacement, whether or not they'll take John's suggestion is unknown.
However, John has his doubts about Steven Tyler's absence from the group. "If you're asking me, is there Aerosmith without Steven Tyler, my answer is no."
Maybe they should go the reality show route like Rock Star: INXS. That'll get them more money publicity.
Just make sure Steven Tyler isn't around to rush the stage, again.

Hmmm…now THAT'S an interesting choice! I would never have thought of Lenny, but I do think he has the vocals to pull it off. No one can ever replace Steven, but I think they would change the band name anyways if they did get Lenny. Aerosmith is Steven Tyler.
No Tyler, no Aerosmith. These are just two men talkin' who are no longer associated with the band in any capacity.

Um, I think that Lenny Kravitz is a horrible idea!! No offence to him or anything, love him. But he could never pull off the vocals like Steven Tyler, the only person who could remotely come close to it I think is Adam 'Glambert' Lambert!! His range is incredible, he could pull it off.

I love Lenny Kravitz. He's awesome, but he's not part of Aerosmith. Aerosmith's known voice since the beginning has been Tyler's and if Perry thinks otherwise he obviously is in a huge case of denial or hasn't been paying attention for the past 30 some odd years he's been apart of the band if he thinks Aerosmith will be successful without him.

That could either be brilliant or catastrophic. Kravitz would almost certainly never agree to do it, anyway. He wants to work under his own name only, I bet.
sounds like they're getting senile…the only way they could go on without ST is to change the name. Lenny is a great musician in his own right and if they want to chart a new course with Lenny, fine; they are all great musicians and would put on a great show. But Aerosmith is Steven, Joe, Joey, Brad and Tom. The masses will not show up to see Aerosmith w/o ST! The masses don't show up to see Joe Perry Project and Joe's been trying to get that going forever.

LENNY KRAVITZ IS HOT, HOT, HOT! But putting him in to REPLACE Steven Tyler and still calling it Aerosmith would be a no, no. I don't think LK would go for it.
I read Lenny's tweet this morning concerning replacing Steven and he is very supportive of Steven.Lenny has shown that he is a real class act.Seems like a nice guy.
