And she's had them for six years!
The Enquirer is reporting that Angelina Jolie has been supporting seven orphans at the SOS Village orphanage in Amman, Jordan where she recently visited with Brad Pitt. An insider reveals:
"Angelina considers the orphans as her own family. She stays in touch with them and really cares about how they are doing. That's why she was so excited about taking Brad to see them. They both feel this is a way they can help so many more children."
Although both Angelina and Brad would like to adopt more kids, the SOS Village does not offer children for adoption.
Orphanage employee Aysha Shahin says, "Angelina will definitely support us by visiting again, by marketing us to other people and sponsoring a house which will pay the children's expenses. She IS a sweetheart, and one of our greatest supporters."
Santa Angelina was introduced to the SOS Village by her friend the Queen of Jordan Noor Al Hussein.

I'm sure there will be plenty of people who will say mean or trashy things about this couple as there always are, but I have to say that they really are a great example for more people in more fortunate positions to have an impact on those in need. yes, we have problems here in the US (that's the next complaint coming) but we have so many more programs and areas that can help those in need than in third world countries. At least they are making a difference which is more than I can say for most.

At the end of the day none of us have anything except whatever good we have done for the world. I admire the fact that she stays focused on caring for the less fortunate of the world. She is a global citizen; something we should all strive to be. She lives in a higher consciousness and conducts herself with grace and dignity.

You can do so much right now, today, tomorrow. Volunteer, THAT"S FREE.
Stop waiting for rescue from some external (forward thinking) force! Be that yourself! It doesn't take money to change the world, it takes agreement. Agreement to assist in your community. That's all, it's so helpful and so simple.
I find it irksome how she balances her serial home-wrecking with charity work. I always see her doing charity work as simply something she does to alleviate her guilt of bad things she's done and also at being born to wealth and beauty that she subconsciously doesn't feel she deserves. I think she herself even said as much in some interview once (that she feels guilty being born rich and privileged) . At least she has a conscience though. So many other people in her position seem to lack one.
FayeFiffic #21, Why aren't you? Money is helpful but certainly not essential to changing lives and minds in your community. What are you doing right now to assisting in your community? Volunteering is free and it changes lives.
Again, I do wonder why so many of the celebs who DO do charity work, don't seem to do much of it in their own country. Why is it so in vogue to help people elsewhere when those people in your own country are the ones whose interest in you have generated the wealth you so generously share elsewhere? The saying goes "charity begins at home" for a reason. Help those near you first! There are PLENTY of neglected children right here!

Here in the U.S., we have programs that other countries do not. While we still have needy children, even on our worst days we do not suffer as much as some other countries. Why begrudge assistance to ANY child ANYWHERE? These two folks are apparently doing what THEY want or believe is right? What are you doing for YOUR community and it's children if that is a concern for you? Are you a volunteer for Big Brothers/Big Sisters? Do you volunteer in the local food bank? Do you donate anything; your time, your help to old folks' homes, humane society? Not trying to be mean, but why see their work as ugly? They make their choice to help whom they want. If their work doesn't apply to your community, then do it yourself. Get started yourself.

Cynicism is sometimes to be expected, but in this case it's not justified. Serious relief work is what quietly goes on here, on a fairly large scale, involving time and effort and the expenditure of cash. The usual self-absorption and drug obsessions do not much enter into this, but more likely, just compassion. Respect.

Actually, Noor is not "The Queen" of Jordan, but is "a Queen" of Jordan. Her husband was the King and died. A heir to the throne came about (a Prince). He married Rania which then makes him a King and, inherently, makes Rania "the Queen", but that doesn't strip Noor of being "a Queen". She just doesn't hold any political power since the heir took power.
Yes they are doing a lot of good but there are just so many children in this country that need help. I would like to see them do move for the kids here.

I love Angelina Jolie. She is the most amazing woman I have ever seen… . .She is so beautiful, intelligent, talented, rich, famous. . .and most importantly, she is kind, loving and generous. I consider her to be a great inspiration and hope one day to accomplish even a tenth of what she has done to help those in need. She is an awesome woman.
