SNL To Air Holiday Special!
Saturday Night Live will present their first holiday special since 2002 entitled A Very Gilly Christmas set to air on December 17.
The two-hour special will feature not only Kristen Wiig as "Gilly," but also Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin performing in some of the best holiday-themed sketches from the past 35 years including "NPR's Delicious Dish and the Schweddy Balls," "A Holiday Wish" and the newer classic "Dick in a Box."
Sounds like it could be pretty entertaining!

I enjoy SNL and like Kristen Wiig, she can be a genius at times. But Gilly is the fucking stupidest thing I have ever seen.

Yawn. You mean we get to see the same old SNL Christmas classic skits that we've seen a hundred times? In the past several years, SNL has had zero new skits that will become holiday classics.
And the Gilly skits suck. Or should I say skit, since they are all the same. Writer's block is contagious at SNL.

i think kristen wiig is very talented & funny, but "gilly" is a classically un-funny, painful snl skit that never seems to end. keenan thompson does well in his role though i think.
The Gilly sketches are like taking a fork to the eye, I will take a big pass on this.

Again - old news but thanks for spreading it (finally) on your 'site'. Wiig said that it will be interesting to expand Gilly's vocabulary from 5 words to 10 or 11. Washington Post did an article on these details yesterday. This show was announced last month.
