Uganda Proposes Death Penalty For Gays!!!
We are so thankful we don't live in Uganda!!!
Politicians in Uganda have proposed a bill regulating the death penalty for gay Ugandans who are infected with HIV and the imprisonment of homosexuals!!!
The bill also says members of society who are friends and family of/associate with homosexual Ugandans could face the same jail sentence!
So, so disgusting!

The bill states anyone who "aids, abets, counsels or procures another to engage of acts of homosexuality" could face up to seven years in prison, while any member of society with "religious, political, economic or social authority" who doesn't "report" a gay Ugandan could go to jail for three years!
The most disturbing section of the bill would regulate a death sentence for "active homosexuals living with HIV or in the cases of same-sex rape" and life in prison for people "convicted of a homosexual act."
The bill came about after a number of preachy conservative Christians visited Uganda and informed the Ugandans that homosexuality could be "cured" with therapy!
Oh, really????
"In the beginning, when the missionaries brought religion, they said they were bringing love," said Ugandan gay activist, David Cato. "Instead they brought hate, through homophobia."
And on the homophobic side of the argument…
School teacher David Kisambria told reporters he believes the influence of the Western world has turned their kids gay!
"The youths in secondary schools copy everything from the Western world and America," said Kisambria. "A good number of students have been converted into gays. We hear there are groups of people given money by some gay organizations in developed countries to recruit youth into gay activities."
It's like a secret gay society!
…Except not.
Protests against the bill by gay-rights activists in New York and Washington have already taken place, while a protest in London is scheduled for this Thursday.

Obviously, this is a crazy and terrible thing. Not to downplay that, but I can't help but wonder at the harsh penalties for same-sex rape in a country where a woman who wears a short skirt is "asking for it" and rape of a woman is just concidered "rough sex."

That's actually not so far-fetched that some of their kids would "turn gay". No, I'm sure they aren't really gay, but many children copy what they see, and if all they see of our culture is all the publicity about gays then it wouldn't surprise me that they wouldn't want to.

She has really dug deep into this story and has brought to light all the politicians and religious rightwings right here in America that have links to this bill. Last night's show she ripped to shreds a few people that she interviewed. She has quickly become one of the most thorough news anchors on tv right now.
You do know that Uganda isn't in the United States. They aren't held to the same Bill of Rights that we are. Also, if you are so worried about gay people getting killed, why don't you look in Africa and try to use your journalistic abilities to write a story about the women and children that are being raped as virgins because people told the villagers "sex with a virgin will cure your HIV." It is a shame that Uganda does something like this, but they are a 3rd world country. They can't afford to be hit by HIV. Now, use your super writing skills and read some information about Africa. If people are raised without medicines and the ability to have a education and such then they can't expect to substain the will to act like human beings by making smart decisions. I grew up in Gambia which is on the west coast of Africa and it is just as bad there. The president actually declared all Gays and Lesbians to leave the country, even if they are citizens or, in his own words "Cut off their heads". But he never did respect or care for any humans rights, no freedom of speech or the press and people are scared to say anything negative about his administration!

We live in a society that many people are accepting of individuals that chose to love same sex. I don't see what the problem is when a man and a man or a woman and woman spend time out publicly and show their love for one another. Just as men and women do.
BTW the problem with HIV/AIDS in Africa is not the gays but the simple lack of education about safe sex and because of their traditions, they do not believe in any form of birth control which they believe a condom is instead of something that could save their lives and when infected, they are cast out or exiled!

I do not agree that the death penalty is appropriate. No sane person with a heart would agree to that. I do think that if a country does not want their children influenced by a lifestyle they don't agree with, that country should take care of the problem. I wish America would stop imposing their beliefs on other countries. You don't see other countries imposing their beliefs on us.
