Bouncers At Jay-Z's Club Fired
We mentioned last month how a crazy fight broke out just outside of Jay-Z's 40/40 Club in Atlantic City. The fight involved several members of their security team and two men at the club.
Thankfully it was caught on tape, but it seems the club's bouncers are surprised to have gotten fired. REALLY?!?
The club's former supervisor of security, Couri Glen, confirmed the news, stating "We were initially all suspended and then fired for misconduct."
But somehow Glen feels they were wrongly terminated, because as he says, they were "just doing our jobs."
He blames it all on the two guys, saying he received complaints of the two clubgoers groping women and when security tried to escort them out, the two men started throwing punches.
Another one of the bouncers got fired from the 40/40 Club and from his second job, claiming "I lost 2 jobs because I was wearing another company's shirt because 40/40 said they didn't have my size shirt to wear … so they told me just to wear that one. The other company saw the video and fired me 3 days later."
Sad. Maybe you should have thought about that before you ganged up on a guy and beat him down instead of just restraining him.

I couldn't agree more with *most* of them being fired!!
They should have not all ganged up on those 2 men, how cheap is that?! Have 10 grown men holding you back while their kicking and punching you?! That is NOT what security guards are suppose to do, their suppose to break up fights, by restraining you, calling the cops and kicking you out of the club! Not to mention this ordeal was OUTSIDE of the club, they had no right to touch them, they should have let the cops deal with it!!!!!!
Although I don't think it is fair that they ALL got fired, some of them didn't lay a finger on them, and you can clearly hear one guy repeatedly saying "don't touch him!"
…now if only they can fire Jay-Z's 45 year old ass too that would be great.yes that man is 45 he turned 40 like 4 years in a row.give me a break.
This situation is inexcusable. I will say though as a former "bouncer", restraint is the ideal and the goal, but when trash starts throwing punches its hard not to throw one or two back.
I'm so disgusted by this. Most security guards feel they are entitled to act like this and get away with it. Do you know how many times this has probably happend and they never got caught They just stick to the same story when the cops come and expect the cops to believe them over a drunk guy.
Completely unecessary.
Security means keep things "secure". Bouncer means "bounce" them out if it isn't?…Come on, let's have some class. I think Jay-Z didn't want bad publicity or to be sued so he paid the two off and let them go. It's the nature of the business.
Didn't these bouncers know that Jay-Z has no loyalty to anyone!
