Pattie Smith and Chrystie Hinds.
This lineup and these women are the embodiment of what Lilith Fair is all about. Just because these artists don't dress like whores and dance around the stage doesn't mean they aren't "exciting." Clearly you'd be whistling a different tune if Lady GaGa was on the roster. And for the people who don't have half a brain of their own to form an actual opinion from THEMSELVES, get a LIFE.
Re: huggymark – Your first two sentences, I agree with. But, are you off your rocker in regards to the rest of your comment?
I've seen Sugarland and they are anything but boring. Amazing. I bet you've never listened to them. Though, I have to say, you're right about the list being boring. One act can't save a show.
Kylie Minogue, or Lady Gaga.
TEGAN AND SARA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Dark Phoenix – yeah that's what I'm sayin'. perez just says that cause Lady isn't on the roster.
how could you say that Metric is 'safe'? Emily Haines has been rocking the light fantastic LONG before Lady Gaga and her bodysuits hit the charts so fuck you, perez, you ignorant mexican fuck.
Re: redmond – Hey! Just like you!
Re: cockenstein – fuckin' right Sleater-Kinney!
where's Fiona Apple?
why didn't you highlight tegan and sara? they're talented and well known. your staff sucks.
Re: frusciante – what a great idea! you could get John Mayer, Robbie Williams, Justin Timberlake, Adam Lambert and have a good old fashioned circle jerk! dumbass.
where's Ani DiFranco?
Tegan and Sara are amazing, really fun live show. Metric is crazy fun too. i would go just for them. Sheryl crow makes me want to jump off a cliff
its music for WOMEN. we existed b4 taylor swift lady gaga and beyonce. i think the indigo girls corinne bailey rae emmylou harris and mos def erykah badhu deserved to be highlighted. say what you want those chicks have all sold records and have a real good vibe.
Well. A number of these ladies are marvelous…but all together it's overwhelming to me.
Also, I saw Chairlift open for Phoenix in Philly and they were sooooooo ridiculously pretentiously bad. :-/
ANYONE that's NOT associated with you! Thank God Ga Ga isn't going to be there!
You got balls,Perez! Putting this down when you did such a fucking bang-up job with your concerts! What a tool!
Stevie Nicks.
Gwen Stefani.
Gaga unplugged would be awesome for LF, but I'd also love to see some classic Jewel, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Heart, Stevie Nicks, Alanis Morrisette, Amy Lee, Michelle Branch, Paramore….the list goes on and on…
DUDE! where the hell is alanis???? they got to be kidding me. Shed rock the hell outta that show!
The Gossip, Beth Orton, The Cranberries….Bruce Jenner…JK
I'd love to see all these groups! Tegan and Sara? Metric Ingrid Michealson I can go on! Sheryl Crowe That concert will rock!
Fiona Apple, Regina Speckor, Tori Amos, The Veronicas and Ani DeFranco
Um, fucking Metric? Best shit ever.
obviously the States hasn't caught on… huge in Canada.
so not boring. tegan and sara, metric, the submarines? ingrid michaelson? definitely awesome. lilith fair started out as a canadian festival, guys. and def isn't a place for insanely mainstream top 40. kinda bummed…this means t&s and metric probably aren't up for coachella
Sugarland are bit out of place and to popular for mix as is Mary, but with her new CD about to tank she needs the tour. Many of the requests asked for on here, people aren't going to do this tour for reunion gigs or if have nothing much new to promote, that's not economically how things work in music business. Perez, everyone is calling it right by you not knowing shit about real music and MUSICIANS!!! It's not a pop dance tour or something you are affiliated with, that is why you have to tear it down, SAD! I hope your vanity label and shit besides this site gets flushed soon!
1) NORAH JONES 2) STEVIE NICKS 3) LYKKE LI 4)DOLORES O'RIORDAN
thanks god no laddy caca
Katy Perry! Come one, Lithith Fair… "I kissed a girl and I liked it…" no brainer.
Joan Jett and Emma of Sick Puppies.
oh wow. they have zee avi. stranger strange.
Adele, Fiona Apple, Santigold
METRIC!!! Hell yeah. Now if only I could actually GET to Lillith Fair… =(
And I don't know what the hell you're talking about, the list seems diverse to me. Tell me one thing Tegan and Sara, Ke$ha, Corinne Bailey Rae and Mary J Blige have in common other than the fact that they're all female musicians.
the list is perfect. lay off, perez!
zee avi rocks!
ANI DIFRANCO!!! FIONA APPLE!!!! NORAH JONES!!!!
The original Lilith fair helped revolutionize music by women in the 90s until Britney Spears came along and set the movement backwards again. I'm glad to see this tour going on again; I went to one back in the day. I just hope this one is well-received. To the people naming who should be on here but not, it's possible those artists and more were considered and/or asked, and those said artists turned it down for whatever reason. Tori Amos turned it down in the 90s–probably did this time around.
Fiona Apple should definitely be in that line-up!
Re: beastly –
Patti Smith maybe? Ha
Re: fardareis –
NO! Shut up. Those are the worst suggestions.
Props to Metric and J knapp being there…however I would like to see the Yeah yeah yeahs, Santogold, Amanda Blank, and LikiLi
I think Melanie C and Paloma Faith should be in the mix!
