President Obama Accepts Nobel Peace Prize
President Barack Obama was in Oslo, Norway today to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
The announcement of his award was made back in October and it was met with much controversy, which the President addressed in his acceptance speech:
"I receive this honor with deep gratitude and great humility. It is an award that speaks to our highest aspirations — that for all the cruelty and hardship of our world, we are not mere prisoners of fate. Our actions matter, and can bend history in the direction of justice.
"And yet I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the considerable controversy that your generous decision has generated. In part, this is because I am at the beginning, and not the end, of my labors on the world stage."
It sounds like he should take it as a vote of confidence and a "call to action" from the world.

What you peeps have to realize is that he has achieved a great deal in the eyes of OTHER nations. We dont see it because we are in our own little media bubble here. But outside, things have changed when people talk about America. We no longer suck in the eyes of foreign nations. That's kind of a big deal. It has been referred to as the Obama Effect. There is a dramatic change in the dynamic of the global neighborhood. Read something, talk to people who get outside the U.S., and then bitch about it if you still feel the need.
