      It's a shame that such an intelligent and gifted golfer can go down the wrong path so easily. He was a great role model, and many looked up to him with admiration. He not only let down his family, but also the nation and the world. I can't imagine having this burden on one's shoulders. Some of what we hear may not be true, but most of it probably is. I'm waiting to see if Tiger has enough guts to face his fans, and the world, and genuinly apologize for his actions. If he follows up with a change in lifestyle, and moves forward in his career, why not give the guy a second chance ? Everyone has their weaknesses and things you would'nt want anyone else to know. Tiger is just held to a higher standard than the rest of us. Is that fair ? I don't know the answer. Hopefully some good news will come soon for his family, as they must be under a tremendous emotional strain right now.

      First, I don't hate Tiger. I try not to judge but it is hard in this case. What really matters most is what his wife feels and thinks…not the rest of us. If she forgives him eventually that is all that matters, really.
      BUT as far as so-called 'role models'… Americans are too quick to equate popularity and financial success or sporting titles with HERO status. That's foolish. All we know about most athletes, movie/tv stars, musicians, artists, authors, politicians and businesspeople is generally what they WANT us to know. So setting yourself up (or your kids) by making one of these people your 'role model' is a dicey proposition. We all need to learn to admire celebrities' accomplishments but not idolize the people. That's what religion is for. So if you are a person of (whatever) faith, my suggestion is save your praise for God (or whatever name your faith uses). This was bound to happen but who woulda guessed to such an apparently amazingly low depth.
      I was never a Tiger 'fan' but still I hope he gets some psychotherapy for what may be a sex addiction, and that his child does not suffer much from all of this…or Mrs. Woods…
