Natalie Portman will be portraying classic character from literature Elizabeth Bennet in the film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies based on the bestselling book by Seth Grahame-Smith and Jane Austen.
It's the English romance we have all come to know and love, but with zombies thrown into the plot as well!
It's being described as "the timeless story of a woman's quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the undead into vicious killers."
Nat is not only going to star in the film, but produce as well.
Who's going to play the always hunky Mr. Darcy? And will he become a zombie?
You know Jane Austen is rolling over in her grave as we speak.

I read that book last month and I loved it. I actually thought, while reading it, that they should turn it into a movie. By the way, don't sit there and say that Jane Austen is rolling over in her grave. I know you can't read but at least have someone read it to you before you go judging it.

I loved the book. You should read it Perez. Jane Austen would love it too. She was very foreward thinking and would love the fact that her book has been reworked with zombies. So cool!

I know Natalie, your mad because Keira Knightley was fabulous playing Elizabeth Bennet. This movie is going to be horrid. The book, I am sure, is horrid. The movie is going to be worse. THIS WILL NOT GET YOU AN OSCAR PORTMAN. THE ACCADEMY WILL HATE YOU FOR THIS, MORE THAN THEY HATE SPIELBERG!

I love her in movies. Haven't actually read the book (now I want to) but the movie sounds refreshingly different from the normal zombie flicks.
There's a quote where she says she'd never star in a horror movie, implying that she was too good for that. But then again, this doesn't necessarily sound like a horror movie.

Re: Edelweiss – Keira Knightley's version of Pride and Prejudice was the WORST adaptation of the book EVER! She was an AWFUL Elizabeth Bennett; portraying her character as a ridiculously silly individual. Also, the writers of this adaptation should be ashamed of the quality of a storyline they produced. It's almost as if they only read Cliff's Note prior to writing the script. Furthermore, if you have not read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, how do you know the movie is not going to be any good? I have read the book and it is absolutely hilarious. Smith's ability to keep the integrity of the original author's work and wittily incorporate the plight of a zombie-infested England is BRILLIANT. You should definitely give the book and the movie a chance before making such a derogatory statement.

I read that book. It's freakin' hilarious. It's actually remarkably true…word for word, with Austin's book, only they just ADD zombies into the story. I don't think Jane would roll over in her grave, unless you want to consider it RIMGLMFAO. (Rolling in my grave laughing my fucking ass off.)
