In the latest issue of Q magazine, Lily Allen cries to the UK music mag about her ongoing struggle with body dysmorphia.

"[In the mirror I see] someone who is more overweight than they actually are," says Lils.
The retired pop singer is slowly but surely recovering from her obsession with her weight with the help of her builder boyfriend, Sam Cooper.
"I was sitting in bed last night and I caught sight of myself in the mirror," tells Illy. "I said, 'God, that's a funny looking thing.' My boyfriend said, 'You are, but in a very sweet and beautiful way.' That was smooth of him."

I have that too! It is very painful to deal with. I'm 38 and look like Dave Navarro /Johnny Depp (it is said all the time) and I see an OLD, OLD man in the mirror some days. I take 23 vitamins a day, microdermabrasion, 8 hours sleep, COUNTLESS face products (they cover my entire sink area), and all kinds of girls and guys are in love with me. But I don't see it. Sometimes I do, but it can change in a matter of SECONDS! I am indoors a great deal of the time, and I am too young (still) for this. It is NOT AS SIMPLE as vanity. It is a serious thing and very painful (emotionally). Any fine line around my eyes is magnified in my mind and I think absolutely everyone is looking and saying "wow…he' s much older than we think he is!" As it is..no one has EVER said "you look old." I have people less than half my age in love with me (no…I don't go for it!) but I still feel "this is futile…I can't keep this up anymore." It all costs so much money now and I spend more time "anti-aging" myself than I so being social. I have deep, deep empathy for anyone going through this. It is very misunderstood. Hearing "you look fine" is never a consolation. Sometimes, it even irritates me I am sorry to admit, because I don't believe them. I feel they are lying just to get me to go out.

All of you probably are not imagining anything about your weight, the scale speaks the truth in case you have any weight issues and see yourself differently the scale can clear that up in a second. To the man that looks like Johnny Depp that spends all day with lotions and potions and fears getting old, guess what you are gettting old so get used to it. This bdd is total nonsense and it is all an excuse for not dealing with the harsh reality that you may require the discipline that it takes to have a model like size 0 figure, like I do. It takes work and a tremedous amount of discipline to eat right and go to the gym consistently and the results are fabulous! So if you all were willing to do the work you wouldn't have bdd. Getting older is a fact of life, so yes the 38 year old man is getting lines around his eyes like all 38 year old men do, and by 39 it will increase. Everything is a disease nowadays and it is an excuse for people who want results and are delusional about the aging process. So get real, accept aging, and have the discipline that it takes to look like a model, I do.
