"French Elvis" Johnny Hallyday In Drug-Induced Coma!
France's beloved Johnny Hallyday has been placed into a drug-induced coma to further his recovery after an operation in Los Angeles to remove lesions on the singer's back.
Hallyday had previously been operated on in Paris, but he was rushed into surgery on Friday and doctors in the U.S. "repaired things" that had gone wrong with his first surgery.
Whoa.

Hallyday's producer, Jean-Claude Camus, revealed on a French radio program that the Hallyday family may be pressing charges against the original doctor for malpractice, and the singer's wife is notably "very angry" over the complications.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy has expressed France's well wishes for the singer, stating, "It provokes great emotion in France because he's a much-loved man and, for each of us, he represents a bit of our personal history: memories, feelings, songs, music."

Plus medical costs per person on average in America are much higher than countries with universal health care. Just because it's American doesn't mean it's better, learn something outside your borders before you give some uninformed comment.

I lived in France for 2 years and I remember that Johnny Halliday was very popular. He has this beautiful song called "Laura" about his daughter. You can see it on Youtube. I hope he has a speedy recovery. He's a wonderful singer.

I was a bit surprised to hear that his doctor was not a good doctor. How come a rich guy like him, doesn't go to the best doctor ? Strange.
Anyhow, when I lived in the US, I heard many stories of rich americans going in France to French doctors because "they were the best" and now I read here that the American doctors are "the best". Thruth is that if you have travel a bit and have an opened mind, it's easy to see that you can find good and bad in every country and saying we are the best is being a BIG bit immature.

Well morons, why don't you check out the stats for what percentage of U.S malpractice suits are against FOREIGN doctors who work in this country, and you might be surprised. Just because they work in this country, does not mean that they obtained their medical degrees in the U.S or are from here. Many have lost their licenses in other countries and fake their credentials to work here in the U.S.
The U.S has far superior doctors and facilities to that of any other country. Also, the reason for such a high rate of malpractice suits in the U.S is due to the fact that in addition to some people having legitimate cases, a high percentage of the law suits are fron lazy assholes who want to get rich at the expense of a surgery. Why don't some of you people read a Newsweek, Time or newspaper sometime, and learn that the U.S is the only country where you can sue for anything, and that it has the most litigious people in the world suing people right and left. So before commenting on the malpractice stats, factor in the people who lie about their surgeries and health care in order to profit because they are too fucking lazy to make money like other h people by working.
People come from all over the world to get medical care here. Yes, there are shitty doctors, but that is the case in ANY profession.
