Nike Still Loves Tiger!

One endorser of Tiger Woods that isn't planning on dropping the serial cheater???
That would have to be Nike!
"Tiger has been part of Nike for more than a decade. He is the best golfer in the world and one of the greatest athletes of his era. We look forward to his return to golf," said a representative for the sportswear giants.
"He and his family have Nike's full support."
Wow.
Tiger better thanking his lucky $tar$, considering Gillette and Tag Heuer have already bailed on the golf pro.
In fact, Woods has dropped from the 6th to the 24th highest paid celebrity endorser in a matter of days!
Do U think Nike made the right decision?

Hmmm didn't see this coming…..
NIKE WILL END UP BEING " SCREWED " BY TIGER TOO !!!!
I will NEVER purchase anything from "Nike" again if they're going to continue to endorse this horn-dog sleaze bag individual. Hopefully, they're committing professional suicide by standing behind their "man".
obviously! like Nike always says. . . . Just DO IT! lol
Re: mirpopanonymous – LOL! Somehow, I doubt NIKE had chasing poontang all over the globe in mind when they stated "Just DO IT"…
yup its smart for nike…cause nike goes by skills in the sport..not his personal life.
people need to learn to keep the two seperate.
Any merchandise with his picture or his name will rot in the shelves!
When you get caught sinning, you have to pay the price. Adultery is a sin.
Sinning by fornicating with 10 to 12 whores is sinning with malice, or aggravated sinning.
I don't always agree with Nike's values but in this case, I do. They seem to be the only ones who understand that the whole cheating scandal is between Tiger and his wife, not Tiger and the world. His personal life has nothing to do with his skills as a golfer, which is why they hired him in the first place. If you're gonna hate on Nike, do it because they exploit Third World children.
Re: litzie – #3 - I COMPLETELY concur. I USED to LOVE Nike (the 'Just Do It' slogan has been my motto for YEARS). No more Nike for me. I swear, NO MORE!
-
I'm SO tired of paying ANY percentage of my purchases to the fancy advertising/(including endorsements of celebs or events) of the products I buy. Just give me the damned product at a reasonable price!
Not a Nike fan anymore. Granted, sport and personal life are separate things, but when you are an athletic icon like Tiger, the rules change. He is a role model weather he asked for it or not. I certainly wouldn't want my son and don't want my daughter looking up to someone who behaves like him. Sorry Nike, we're an Adidas family now.
Nike promotes lying, cheating and promiscuity by keeping him. Just do what now? I wear everything NIKE…not anymore. I don't want to be reminded of their main spokeperson everytime I wear one of their products! Email your disgust at nikebiz.com!
No to the Nike question. Let the dude play golf, but he is NO role model.
Will not consider Nike for any more purchases. Keep on condoning cheaters Nike.
Thanks for censoring my comment fuck face
Well, he doesn't have my endorsement. I threw all the Nike clothes we had in the house in the garbage. I'd be embarrassed to be seen in that crap any longer.
Re: Laury – You poor idiot. Nike is paying him the big bucks for his image as an inspiration to youngsters and sports followers.
Now the biggest male hoochie hoebag in the western hemisphere, his image ain't worth Jack Shit.
Go take a class, honey.
Re: xoxo_anonymous – #6: . . . and you need to learn how to spell "separate."
Re: Laury – You're so goddamned stupid! Of course the "Nike thing" has everything to do with his personal life: Do you think Nike (or anybody) would have hired him to endorse their product(s) if they knew about his serial cheating?! Hell no. Tiger Woods is a sleazy, dishonest fuck. That's not hat ANYBODY wants as front-man for a product.
Re: mirpopanonymous – LOL
it's normal for me because Woods is one of sportmen in the world(golf and bed obviously)
I guess it's their decision at the end of the day, but I wouldn't buy ANYTHING that has his name on it. He's a disappointment, a cheat, and a liar.
Oh come on stop being so pathetic yes he did wrong and he is payin the price. Nike can do what they want with him cos im pretty sure people will forget about this in like a few weeks time and go to the shop and buy a new pair of trainers made by nike and not even remeber there rants about Tiger. And like non of you lot have ever 'sinned' in your lifes Pfft we have all had our moments
yes. because didnt David Letterman just apologize for cheating on his wife? Its the same cow, same milk. a cheater is a cheater whether you do it once or 15 times!!!! you people are such HYPOCRITES!!!!!!
Re: G0 Ask Alice – I just had my comment censored as well. It'll be the LAST time I leave any on this site…
Re: Bellagio – one letter..big deal
Re: litzie –
What did you say to get censored? Did you spell things "correctly"?
Re: litzie – Yeah, what gives?
Professional athletes who are paid mega $$$ for endorsement deals have an obligation to their public and fans to keep their noses clean and their peens in their own pockets. I would like to see every athlete that errs lose their sponsors and advertisement gigs. I, in addition to those who spoke up here and those who don't read blogs, will also NOT ever purchase another Nike product. Obviously, Just Do It (to Anyone and Everyone) is THE motto for both Tiger and Nike.
Nike has always promoted cheaters . . . They just hadn't been caught. So it isn't a stretch for that company.
OK, so I went to their site to write a complaint (thanks, sharre), but saw they were promoting another cheater/rapist's shoe line. So, I figured my finger strength would be falling on deaf ears. Thanks for reminding me, Laury, about the 3rd world child labor thing. Nike. No more of my hard-earned dollars for YOU!
Nike's right! He may have royally fucked up and made horrible decisions in his personal life, but he IS still the best golfer in the world.
Re: xoxo_anonymous – i totally agree - he's an amazing athlete, the best in golf and that's what nike represents > amazing athletes….people unfortunately don't like to or can't seperate talents (tiger being an athlete - and tiger being a husband
They might have to join Sports Illustrated and Playboy on my no-shop list. Then again, I'd still vote for Bill Clinton.
Re: MiDeddy Cawt Me Tut-tin Mythelff – That sounds like you're trying to be God's little helper. God doesn't need your help, you need His. Judge based on what's right in your life, not what you think someone else should have done in theirs.
OK one last post: My guess is that Nike is betting on a big comeback.
well, we won't forgive this creepppppppppppppp
and
nike
haz alwayz suckedazz..who givez a fuk bout either.
what he did was shitty, but he is still a great golfer. nike endorses him b/c of that. his personal should have nothing to do with his endorsements.
Oh, let's get something straight here. Tiger may have been a great golfer, but he was not "one of the greatest athletes of his era." It takes no athletic ability to swing a golf club and ride around in a golf cart. It only requires two arms and sometimes not even that. To hit the ball, it only requires good eye-arm coordination, something that my 83-year-old father and 80-year-old mother have, because they play golf, too.
if people are going to stop buying nike products it should be for a much better reason than something so disgustingly pathetic as a strangers dirty laundry. maybe consider the fact that hundreds of children are working their asses off 12 hours a day making these clothes for fuck all. its sick that people get so worked up over rich peoples lives when there are so many unfortunate people in this world who are much more deserving of people's time and energy.
yes, they made the right decision! Nike is an brand that sells athletic gear and sponsors top athletes! Tiger woods is obviously an amazing golfer and that is why he was choosen to be on their billboards, etc!
He cheated and thats a shame but that has nothing to do with his endorsment for Nike!!!
yes. because at the end of the day, nike is endorsing him for his talent. not all the gossip surrounding him.
these comments above are why i am so glad i am not american. y'all are fucking wack, sitting on your pedestal like you've never done a thing wrong. I don't condone cheating but who gives a fuck what he does with his life, you all shout all your jesus bullshit yet isnt one of the 10 commandments that you shall not create no idols? if everyone didnt hold him so high above us all on a pedestal there wouldn't be a public problem here. practice what you preach. you all sound like bitter old house wives.
Re: Bellagio – There was no profanity, nor was the comment totally out-of-line. And my "spell check" is always on, so nothing was amiss. I've no clue why I was censored…ask Perez!
Re: didntneedtoseethat – I wish I knew "what gives"…it's annoying to craft a coherent comment and then have it obliterated. Especially when you read some of the semi-illiterate remarks that do get posted!
Nope, bad move. Nike needs to kiss their cash cow goodbye until he cleans up his act. I will not use their products if they are going to endorse someone who so blatently cheated so many times, and used prostitues. Classy!! If Nike approves of Tiger right now, they are also endorsing his recent behavior.
BOTTOM LINE: Nike has hundreds of millions of dollars in Tiger merchandise scattered across the world, and there is no way they will allow it to be sold at a discount. It's a business decision. Period.
I just bought a pair of nikes yesterday. Glad to hear they support him, im sure he did not break his contract with them. Doucebags are only human.
Yeah they made the right decision.. Obviously they're still banking in the koinz off his sorry ass
Oh, and all of you who say his personal life doesn't matter..you are wrong! Personal lives are a very important part of the 'whole package' that companies are looking for when they want someone to endorse their product for millions of dollars a year! If he wants the big bucks for endorsements, he needs to stay clean and keep out of trouble. It's not that hard! To make that kind of money in endorsements, he needs to be a role model on all fronts. Endorsing a product is a privilege. His personal life is a huge part of his image, which is what Nike and other sponsors are paying for. You can't have serious personal issues but be great at your craft, and expect for no one to care about your personal life when you are endorsing a product.
Re: litzie – Hey when you say "horn-dog sleaze bag individual". You know you're talking about half the American population.. hurry go check on your hubby
I mean, they stuck by Michael Jordan through his gambling addictions and various infidelities.
Possible reason for their decision: the people they are marketing to. Gillette sells to ALL kinds of people. Tag is looking for wealthy watch purchasers. Accenture looks to an elite clientele. They all dumped him. So what's the difference? Nike's main purchasers are young, and Nike figures they won't be bothered by the image of an immature, sneaky, lying, lowlife. Now, if he doesn't come back to golf, or sucks when he does, they'll drop him like a hot rock.
I think they are doing the right thing and everybody falls , no matter how low he is . Still the best in golf and no one can take that away from him . he wil learn and pay for it . but let the man be a man .
Well since we all know Nike's moral standard on things (hiring children to work in their sweatshops) no I'm not surprised.
Re: SAMDREW – My "hubby" is in the den reading. I don't want to become so pessimistic that I agree with your postulate that "half the American population" (males?) are horn-dog, sleaze bag individuals. There's still quite a few monogamous relationships in existence, believe it or not.
Tiger has no morals and isnt a role model anymore, all sponsors should drop him ASAP. Most married men cheat with 1 or 2 women. Tiger cheated with more than 30 different prostitutes and porn actresses, thats what makes him such a fucking scumbag and hateable.
Re: Butterfly_1 – AMEN to everything you said…
You guys are all stupid for saying that you wouldnt buy nike stuff anymore because they are still sponserinng tiger woods. You all know you guys will still buy. Thats just stupidty. His personal life has nothing to do with your dumba**es.
Considering Nike stood behind Michael Vick the dog killer, I'm not surprised they will stick by Tiger the Cheetah.
Yes! Tiger Will b back!
It's nice to know that if I have insomnia, I can always come here to read millions of tiger woods stories until i snooze
People…..get a clue. Successful men have been cheating on their partners since the dawn of time. It doesn't make them bad people, it makes them bad HUSBANDS. It is his family's business. Not ours.
Just because Tiger likes the ladies, that doesn't mean he isn't a great athlete who has done more for the game of golf than anybody else in the last few decades.
NOBODY is perfect. We all have flaws. Damn near every person in this world has a skeleton in their closet that they don't want anybody to know about it.
The problem is the media. They are reporting stuff that isn't news. Its just a bunch of gossip. And the other problem is that our society loves to judge, judge, judge because it makes people feel superior and less miserable about themselves. It all makes me sick.
Unfortunatley, Tiger Woods' mistake effects us all but noone should be fighting. I agree with not buying Nike's products anymore, or any other that supports him, because it is wrong of them and as a country we look like TRASH. Especially with his wife being from Sweden - we must look like a disgrace to them.
ooo how nice do they know they RE REPRESENTING A DOUCHE
are people stupid. just bc he cheated on his wife doesnt change the fact that hes the best golfer in the world dumb asses. it doesnt change antyhing. just cause hes a friggen pro golfer doesnt mean hes not allowed to make stupid mistakes.
I applaud them. They have a smart marketing team. They know that the public loves to build people up, tear them apart, then build them up again. HELLO…BRITNEY SPEARS!!! tiger will be back bigger and better than ever…Nike is smart…they know it…it's not personal, it's BUSINESS!!
I´m gonna try other brands now because I don´t want a cent of my hard earned money to go to an adulterer
absofuckinglutely noooo.
I think it's a good idea to keep the focus on the sport and not the personal life. Yes Tiger Woods is a huge douche but it doesn't change the fact that he is one of the greatest most well known golfers of all time. Just because he's a sleaze doesn't change his skills.
Nike never. Same for Tag Heuer . On la cienega just north of 10, Chocolate douche on big ass billboard I almost wrecked . I hope it gets egged.
why would gilette ad tag heur drop him when i see that so many nasty guys support him, saying "go tiger!". that means he's gotten more male fans. and all these companies are what MEN buy not women. so Nike is the only smart one that gets it.
Oh my GOD you people are SO PATHETIC!!
Are all of you perfect? Never made a mistake or committed a "sin"?
Yes he did a very bad thing, but it's between him and his wife… why do you people care so much?
I totally agree with Lilygirl27. Men have always cheated and will always cheat. People who say that they don't want to have anything to do with an adulterer may start leading a pretty lonely life… your neighbor could be an adulterer, as could your boss, your colleague, your tennis partner, your HUSBAND… or even YOU YOURSELF!
And believe me… your country doesn't look like trash, only because Nike supports Tiger Woods… nobody is judging the US for this. Most people are not so shallow as to judge an entire country for the things that one single man did.(Your country may look like trash because of the likes of George W. and Sarah Palin who a great part of you supported… and because most of you can't seem to appreciate the great man who is your president now).
Stop being such hypocrites! Try to make your own miserable lives better, instead of making another person's life miserable.
I just think they are professionals and are only in business with Tiger so his personal life doesnt really matter to them, yes he is celebrity endorser but he is known for his athleticism not who he sleeps with
I don't recall reading Tiger cheated during the Masters? I don't recall reading Tiger cheated ANYWHERE on the golf circuit, so what does his personal life have to do with any of his endorsements for his ability to be one of the top golfers in the world?
I want to know how many people who are commenting are actually golfers. It's possibly the lamest sport ever, and being a golfer myself, every time I get crap for it my excuse was always "Tiger Woods makes more than Beckham, so you can suck it". Now it's evident that he's also getting more than Beckham.
But in all seriousness, I'm almost positive that this is more a psychological addiction and Tiger should probably seek help.
Re: cindyloohoo1 – I dunno, I have a problem with ANY portion of the cost of a product I buy going to line the pockets of a scumbag.
-
It wasn't just an affair where he loved one, maybe two gals, he ROMPED with porn "actresses" (plural), and REAL-LIFE HOOKERS, yes, HOOKERS.
-
Imagine if you were Elin, contemplating the number of sexual partners Tiger's had, and the amount of the sexual partners all those "women" had… the total of sexual partners would come to a BAZILLION!
-
I once had a guy who cheated on me give me an STD resulting in a major (and costly) health issue. I saw a lawyer who informed me I could have him (in my state) charged with assault. Not to mention suing him for the medical costs, emotional and punitive damages, and FUTURE medical costs and testing as it can take time for these things (HIV, hep, herpes, papilloma virus, etc.) to manifest themselves.
HEY MORAL MAJORITY, QUIT BULLYING THE GUY. HE'S DONE MORE IN LIFE THAN YOU COULD EVER DREAM OF.
AS FOR YOU, PEREZ CLIQUE, CALLING PEOPLE IDIOTS AND HAS-BEENS TELLS MORE ABOUT YOU THAN ABOUT THEM.
DROP IT!!!
okay, perez u r frikkin hilarious as heck….
some of ur stuff is hilarious too i must say but when it comes to stuff like this who r u to judge when u say ur gay….which, to each thier own, but this is tiger and his wife business not him and perez or the world, u r first to jump on stuff like this but what if they were to DROP UR ASS for bein gay?????
He obviously is gettin paid for bein the best golfer in the world not for what he's doin in his personal life…
"He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone"
Re: didntneedtoseethat – I understand where you're coming from, you can forgive one "indiscretion" maybe even two, and yes, he really spread himself thin with the bimbo's, I get that, but I just feel his personal life should be just that, personal, I sure wouldn't want my dirty laundry aired! I'm sorry what happened to you, I had a cheating boyfriend who was a real p*rick also, back to Tiger though, I think it can be talked about forever, but I just don't think his personal and professional life should be linked together
Re: cindyloohoo1 – I agree, his professional life - the golfing part, should/could be left out. It's just the product endorsement-thing I've got a problem with. It makes my skin crawl to think by buying a product, some of that money's gone to pay for Tiger's hookers.
PGA and Nike aren't stupid. Tiger can cheat with a small city of women. Nobody watched PGA before Tiger. This will blow over just got to wait it out. Vick comes back from killing dogs Tiger will be back from this. His marriage was a PR thing any way. And yes Nike made the right call.
Re: trakstar5 – Man, the way you said that - Armageddon must be right around the corner…
Yes, I think NIKE made the right decision because nobody cares that he cheated, and i will say it again everyone on planet earth cheats, men and women its just a way of life.
I'm sure Nike will keep him forever, I mean, other then Magic Johnson, can you think of a person who is a better example of the Nike slogan "Just do it"? He does (apparently) everythign with a JAY JAY.
Adidas will be happy to help anyone that refuses to buy Nike for supporting Adultery is such a big way.
Yes, I do because Nike didn't give him the endorsement for being a great husband, they gave it to him for being the best fucking golfer in the world!!!!!!!!!!!! When he comes back playing better than ever I bet you any amount of money those 2 companies will be wanting him back and all those 15 minutes of fame bimbets will still be looked at as bimbos!!!!!! Tiger Woods isn't the only athlete to succumb to marital affairs, look at Michael Jordan, he had about 4 or 5 mistresses and had 2 big endorsements deals with Nike and Hanes, they stuck buy him even after he apologized and still kept having the affairs. We shouldn't act like this is something new, it has been going on for decades and decades people!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: SHBrady – Oh good lord!! He is fucking human, humans make mistakes… I am sure Nike won't miss you or your money!!!!!!!!
Re: MiDeddy Cawt Me Tut-tin Mythelff – Nike is paying Tiger for his great ability at being the world greatest golfer just like they paid Jordan who might I say had 4 or 5 mistresses while at the top of his basketball game and even after he left basketball, when he was called out on those affairs by the woman and when his wife filed for divorce!!! Some companies keep professional and personal affairs separate, which it is how it should be!!!!!!! You are the idiot!!!!
Re: Bellagio – Nike is paying Tiger for his great ability at being the world greatest golfer just like they paid Jordan who might I say had 4 or 5 mistresses while at the top of his basketball game and even after he left basketball, when he was called out on those affairs by the woman and when his wife filed for divorce!!! Some companies keep professional and personal affairs separate, which it is how it should be!!!!!! Plus Tiger makes Nike Golf a "shit load" of money. Do you really think Nike is going to just throw all that away, what other golfer can and will be able to do that for Nike? NO ONE!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Horrorwriter – Yeah, Michael Jordan, he had 4 or 5 mistresses while playing ball and after he was done!!!!!! He only got caught after he was done playing in the NBA but still had his Nike endorsement along with Hanes by his side. I think those 2 companies are right on to keep professional and personal affairs separate.
I posted to this thread HOURS ago. WTF Perez?!
the only one that can judge anyone is God, cause were all human, and we all make mistakes!! Go Nike!!!!
Re: PAH – OK we get it!!!!!!!!!!! Michael Jordan… Michael Jordan…
-
Still not gonna buy Nike ever again, tho'.
Re: didntneedtoseethat – Your lose!!!! Michael and Tiger aren't the only athlete to cheat on their spouse but they are the biggest names in their field of sport. Other names you could say are Kobe, A-Rod, Muhammad Ali, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. This whole cheating on spouse thing didn't just start happening over the last few weeks w/Tiger, it has been going on for years and years and years!!!!!!!!
Nike isn't golf without their perverted pro Tiger
who cares, why does anybody give a fuck about tiger woods personal life? he is an amazing athelete and i would still purchase anything tagged with his name. if there is one thing this man knows (besides his hos) its golf.
No ones going to buy Nike if they keep Tiger around
No more Nike for me or any of my family that I buy for. Obviously this boardroom is full of a bunch of sleaze bags that condone this type of behavior.
Oh my God!!! What do you people care? Let him be. You do not have to stop buying Nike stuff. You don't have to throw away what you already have!!! That is just plain ridiculous. Live your lives people, the best way you can and leave others do whatever they want. It's just a man, a flawed one, but just a man and Nike is just a brand who happens to sell sporty stuff and that's it. There's no more to it.
Serial sexual conquests seem to be part of the jock schtick. Maybe they like the idea, and some crunchers somewhere will think it will sell more stuff. Then the marketing execs butted antlers and went home.
