Roman Polanski's Film To Be Distributed In 2010
Just because he's under house arrest in the Swiss Alps doesn't mean he has to quit his day job!
The rights to Roman Polanski's new movie, The Ghost Writer, have been acquired by Twilight powerhouse, Summit Entertainment.
Summit plans to release the film, an adaptation of The Ghost by Robert Harris, throughout North America in the first half of 2010.
The Ghost Writer follows the story of a "former British Prime Minister [Pierce Brosnan]… who is holed up writing his memoirs on an island off the eastern seaboard of the U.S."
When Brosnan's assistant dies, "a professional ghostwriter [Ewan McGregor] is sent out to help him finish the book."

Sounds kind of boring for Roman.
Unless of course there is a kinky sexual twist, maybe involving McGregor, or even better…Dakota Fanning.

For every one jabronie here who says he/she won't see the movie, there are 100's that will. Why, you ask? Simple :
Roman Polanski is not going to be anywhere near that movie when it's made aside from his name popping up in the credits briefly…..THAT'S IT!
I'm not about to punish the Splendid Actors that I know will do a sensational job in the movie just ’cause the story was written(?) by Roman Polanski.
Those that cry "waah waaah Rapist…young girl….waaah" need to shut their f'n pie-holes and realize that :
#1.) Polanski will win this battle with the courts and will NOT be extradited. COUNT ON IT!
and
#2.) The "Victim" won't cooperate AND it's a 3-decades-old case…let me repeat A THREE-DECADES-OLD CASE!! And to those who say that he was already convicted…Yes, he was. And here's a kicker for you all : He Served his time and was released. But then the judge then who(by some type of Karma) died of cancer, decided to renege on the deal and try to get Polanski back in Jail even after he had served his term per agreement. And that was WRONG and I'll be shocked if anything other than a full acquittal does not occur.
(also, the prosecutors who want Polanski to "show up personally" to challenge the charges are just looking for an excuse for the police to nail him to the wall, figuratively-speaking and make him register as a sex offender and then try to keep him in the U.S. so he will suffer like most sex offenders in Society. It won't work, though….They're grasping for straws in an empty container here….)
Sorry for going off on a tangent here but people need to use their heads for a change and realize that nothing will come of this whole situation. But of course, that's just my own damn opinion.
mmmm they had me at Ewan McGregor. But aside from him, I'm intrigued. I'll go see it.

Check the court documents. Movie will be a big hit because of all the controversy surrounding it. As for the people saying 'I'm not going to see it': don't think Polanski cares. Have you seen The Pianist, Bitter Moon, Death and the Maiden, Frantic or The Ninth Gate? All of those films were made AFTER Polanski's case went sour so the real die-hards here must have avoided these films as well.. oh wait, the fact that Polanski did what he did wasn't such a freakin' hype when these movies came out, it didn't matter back then. Talk about being a hypocrite.. FFS, even the prosecutor (Douglas Dalton) admits the judge lied and was at fault!

Pedophilia is a disease, something Polanski was tested on several times during the late '70s and guess what the outcome was! Those reports are facts, medical reports conducted by people who deal with pedophiles everyday. Do some research before you open your mouth, my guess is that you weren't even around when all of this happened. Oh and tell me, did you bark this loud when the movies I stated earlier came out? Didn't think so…
Re: cute_puppy – btw, rape and drugging charges were DROPPED and what stayed was the sexual intercourse with a minor. That was the only thing Polanski was accused of in the end and that's the only thing Polanski can now be convicted for.

Roman Polanski ALREADY SERVED HIS TIME. That's what people like Shade and puppy don't realize or don't want to realize….
He served his time, and the Judge, all of a sudden, decided to attempt to put him back in jail just because he felt like it… Sorry, but that's just plain WRONG, UNETHICAL, AND ILLEGAL for a judge to do. heck, an act like that would get any Judge today Disbarred(removed) for abuse of power.
So let me repeat it for you people : Polanski SERVED HIS TIME, PERIOD. THE END.
There should be no re-try…Double-Jeopardy anyone?
