Dexter's season four finale on Sunday broke records for Showtime, making it the most-watched episode of an original series in network history!!

There was a 71% increase from the season three finale as 2.575 million viewers tuned in at 9 p.m., and 3.078 million if the 11 p.m. replay is factored in. This is the first time a Showtime original series has taken in 3 million viewers on a single night.
We wonder what season five will hold!

The Finale last night was freaking FANTASTIC.
Most depressing finale in the world. I don't even know if I can watch next season. I hope it was all a dream…As you would say, "amazeballs"!!

I was sooo sad to see how it ended.. Poor Dexter!! I hate Trinity.. But I do love the actor (John Lithgow) who played him. =/ They had a good story line this season. I think it has probably been my fave season so far.

I must be the only person in the fucking world who didn't like the finale. It was BEYOND predictable imo - I called it right from the beginning I just thought MAYBE they'd throw something else in at the end.

i can't believe how the finale ended! i actually cried! i'm sooooooo angry that dexter didn't know as he was finally killing trinity that rita had been his last victim! that was INSANE and so incredibly devastating! i want the next season NOW!!!!! i just cannot get that ending out of my head. just wow.
It was disturbing to say the least, the image of that baby in a pool of blood.. But yeah, a brilliant show. I just wish we didn't have wait till september 2010 to see what happens next.

Dexter has to be by far the best show on television rite now! It saddens me that Michael C. Hall doesn't get the credit he deserves as an actor for portraying this amazing role! The writers as well just amazing, brilliant, incredible, and perfection I Will miss Dexter. I can't wait till next season! Did I say amazing show!?!?!

They better give both Lithgow and Hall Emmys next year for this! That was one of the best season finales since Lost's "Donkey Wheel"
What does it say about us as humans when the #1 show on cable is about a serial killer? That being said, I love Dexter!!! I normally cannot watch the parts in shows or movies when someone is being killed, but Dexter has me spellbound. I need to see a therapist lol.

I wonder if Rita's kids will stay with him or go off with the grandparents that were on the last episode. Who knows maybe he will not even keep his own kid???? And what are the cops going to think about Ritas murder, she sure didn't fit the profile.
