Sources tell us that Island Def Jam has stopped ALL promotion Mariah Carey's latest album, Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel, including the new single H.A.T.E.U.
Instead, remix albums will be issued in February with one featuring pop and hip-hop remixes of all the songs on Memoirs including 4 brand new songs. The other album will be Electro-Pop remixes done by the Jump Smokers.
The first remix released will be a reworked version of the lovely Angels Cry, featuring Ne-Yo and is expected to hit radio around January 4th.
The remix albums sound pretty gimmicky to us, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!
Good thing hubby Nick Cannon is bringing home the bacon!

Has anyone else heard the remix to H.A.T.E.U.? It has a totally differnt vibe. It's almost sounds kind of late 90's. So much better than to original.

Mariah Shoots "Angels Cry" Remix Music Video
As reported exclusively here on Mariah Daily Journal, Mariah's next single is "Angels Cry" Remix featuring Ne-Yo, her first single from the Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel Remix album that is due out early next year.
Mariah is scheduled to shoot the music video for "Angels Cry" Remix on Thursday, December 17 in an undisclosed location in Los Angeles, California. It will be directed by Nick Cannon who previously helmed E=MC²'s "I Stay In Love" and The-Dream and Mariah's "My Love."
"Angels Cry" is slated for release to radio on Monday, January 4, 2010.

On Friday, Dec. 18, Mariah is scheduled to film the music video for "Up Out My Face" Remix in Los Angeles. Nick Cannon has also been tasked to direct the music video. The current script requires a marching band in the video.
Minaj joins an exclusive group of female collaborators featured on recorded Mariah songs: Lil' Vicious ("Always Be My Baby Remix"), Whitney Houston ("When You Believe"), Mocha & Amil ("I Still Believe Remix"), Trina ("Loverboy Remix"), Missy Elliott ("Heartbreaker Remix"), Da Brat ("Heartbreaker Remix," "Honey Remix," "Loverboy," etc.) and Kelly Price ("Through The Rain Remix").
The release date for "Up Out My Face" Remix featuring Nicki Minaj is not yet known at this time.

If you look at the latest press releases from both, you'd see that Madonna's sold 200 million wordwide, and Mariah has sold 175 worldwide. You don't need to get defensive about that. It's just what's printed. And…if the US hated Madonna so much, than why do all of her US and worldwide concerts sell out? She sold out over 60 US concerts in the US in the past 3-4 years. That's pretty effing good. And she is the only female to ever headline a stadium show in the US….and she has the biggest tour ever by a solo artist. You can say what you want about Madonna, but the fact is she can still pull thousands of people to her concerts. While Mariah is doing little theatre shows with 4,000 seats. LOL

If achieving Silver is no big deal, let's see you do it. People are going to keep buying music. Susan Boyle, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, etc. are proving that. People just aren't buying Madonna's and Mariah's anymore. And yes, Madonna has had a successful tour, but so has Cher, Streisand, and Tina, and they didn't have to have a hit album, sample an ABBA song, or hook up with Justin to do this, and they've been in this industry MUCH longer. Mariah has never established herself as a tour artist; she even admits to hating touring. Who would you rather see? She's been in the business for 47 years, which trumps Madonna's longevity card, and she still has the power to prevent other divas from entering the #1 spot on Billboard's album charts. Maybe she doesn't have a lot of hit singles as the aforementioned, but she's never been a singles artist. Madonna may have the highest grossing tour, simply because she played in front of more people, but Streisand grossed $95 million on her last tour just for playing in front of just half a million. If you break that down to an average per person attending, Barbra wins.
