A Christmas Gift Came Early!

We LOVE this!!!!
Yesterday, we were listening to holiday music non-stop, including one of our all-time favorites, Jewel's Christmas album Joy.
We joking asked her on her Twitter if she'd come over to our place and sing some holiday songs for us. She @replied that she'd sing her heart away via phone. Which lead us to suggest Skype or iChat instead. And, then, a lightbulb went off.
We suggested that she make a holiday video for her fans, singing one of the songs off her Christmas - and she loved the idea.
Springing into action, Jewel turned around a vid super fast, and we LOVE THAT!

On second thought, Jewel, you need to step up your game. This is a weak, predictable and insipid waste of your talent.
You need to to look back to some vocalists like Dusty, Peggy, Dionne and Julie that made music with their voices. They made thought-provoking lyrics into timeless works of art.

I'm sorry, but that was awesome. She sounded better singing that song off the cuff than the majority of artists sound when they are fully produced. Absolutely loved it, and it make me want to buy her Christmas album.

Honestly, you need to come out with a seriously sophisticated and timeless work of craftsmanship.
Think early Dolly Parton or Sade. Those albums were works of art from beginning to end.
If you want to go further back, think Dinah Shore's album with Andre Previn. Look it up. IT'S ONE OF THE BEST RECORDINGS of our lifetimes. You have a voice that can make that kind of magic.

Whoa - a capela… you have to have an amazing set of vocal chords to pull something like that off at the drop of a hat. No studio, no prep time. So glad I got to see her from the start of her career in coffee houses in San Diego. Amazing. And that lovable dog of hers - adorable.
Oh - and the reason for the furniture - she's married to a professional rodeo rider. And Jewel could care less about "settings" - she used to live in a car. She's one humble, REAL, human being.
Her snaggle tooth is one of her trademarks. Like Cindy Crawford's beauty mark mole by her mouth. If she were to straighten it out - she'd look like every other woman in Hollywood. Her teeth are white and pretty. At least she doesn't look like a stamped out puppet. A bit of crookedness gives one character.

i love jewel… her trailer park walls in the back ground and crazy horse pillows on the couch… it all just works, cause she doesn't give a fuck, she's beautiful and talented.
