An Elf Comes To Broadway

And it is sure to be LAME!

Will Ferrell's mildly entertaining holiday romp, Elf, is making it's way to the Broadway stage. Christian Anderson has already been tapped to play Buddy, a normal-sized man who is raised by Santa's elves only to be sent to New York to find his real family.

Though the adaptation is rumored to be getting some good buzz, including a "tuneful" score, we remain skeptical.

What do U think?

Love Elf!! One of our Holiday favorites! I would forsure go see this if I was in NYC during the holidays!

  2. 2

    who really cares lol

  3. 3

Um "mildy entertaing" ? Obviously you don't know a great holiday movie when you see it perez!

However, Im not so sure someone else should take on Ferrell's role.

  4. 4

Im banging a giant instead of an elf

  5. 5

    mildly entertaining? its great

  6. 6

I think Broadway should start finding some original scripts.
They're the best and original so they could never be compared. The best are the original ones! notice the original ones have been the ones to stay on broadway the longest!

Elf is one of the best Christmas movies EVER, and it has a large following.

  8. 8

What!! That movie rocks; I mean Broadway seems pretty lame - but Elf… talk about awesome

  9. 9

i dont know what you are talking about…ELF was hilarious. normally his movies suck,,but this was great !!!!

  10. 10

the movie was ingeniously funny. what u talking about mildly?

  11. 11

    this movie was hilarioussss

  12. 12

This is all news from a reportedly more elaborate than usual reading. In no way does that mean Christian Anderson has been "tapped" for the final show. Many actors participate in readings but not the show, especially when the show is slated only to be a holiday show that won't see the light of day for almost a year.
As the article states it will join the inauspicious ranks of holiday productions meant to play to "out-of-towners brain dead after a long day of Christmas shopping".

BTW I think I am the only person I know who did not love or at least like this movie.

  15. 15

Oh P-sizzle! Elf is one of the greatest movies ehva! It's just so cute and campy. "Francisco, that's fun to say!"

  16. 16

That only works as a movie that everyone watches around Christmastime because it's kinda funny and entertaining.

    Will NOT work on Broadway.

  17. 17

    loved the movie

  18. 18

    YES!
    I loved that movie (:

  19. 19

Not gonna lie, Elf is one of my favorite movies because it's spo ridiculous (not quite a classic, but necessary at Christmas time).
But I'm not sure how well it'll translate to the stage. It might be amusing, but not as good as the movie.

  20. 20

I would actually love to see this. The only thing is that it might be difficult to sell beyond the holidays. Maybe they could make it a seasonal engagement?

  21. 21

Are you kidding me!?!? I love "ELF." If someone can portray him on Broadway as well as Ferrell did in the movie, then it's sure to be a hit!

  22. 22

I think if you keep an open mind and just have fun with this movie, then it can be funny and a "laugh-out-loud" movie. Who knows with a Broadway version?? I am not a big fan of Will Ferrell's, but this movie made/makes me laugh!

  23. 23

it's more than just mildly entertaining, you fucker

  24. 24

ummmmm perez maybe you have no sense of humor or you're like too old or something, but EVERYONE loves Elf, it's like the best holiday movie ever created!

  25. 25

Have you not seen Elf?! It's frickin' hysterical. Why do you have to hate? The only reason you think it's mildly entertaining is because you don't like Will Ferrell. Maybe if you got your head out of Lady Gaga's ass, you'd see how funny this movie is. Still haven't seen the story about Gaga keeping Boston fans waiting until 3 am and being 90 minutes late to her concert there. I thought you reported gossip, Perez. Guess not.

  26. 26

um, Elf is pretty much one of the best movies ever. "I just like to smile, smiling's my favorite!"

  27. 27

Elf was a fantastic movie!!! You have absolutely no taste

  28. 28

everyone loves this movie…i mean my favorite is the polar express but elf is still a good one

  29. 29

i don't trust or take seriously anyone that thinks this movie is not funny. what's wrong with you?

  30. 30

I LOVE "Elf"! The film is hilarious, charming, and has some great musical numbers. It was a fantastic Christmas movie, that will make a fantastic Broadway musical!!!

  31. 31

Boy, they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Next thing you know there'll be a Perez musical

  32. 32

I love Elf, such a cute movie. I couldn't really imagine it being good on Broadway though and I couldn't see anyone else but Will Ferrell playing Buddy.

  33. 33

What do you mean by "mildly entertaining"? Elf is THE holiday movie you moron! I think the broadway play idea is fantastic.

    34

Elf is a great holiday movie. Perez, you're a fat, fucking asshole.

  35. 35

elf is WAY more than mildly entertaining it is my favorite xmas movie by far!!! like usual you don't know what your talking about…

  36. 36

Anyone who doesn't love this movie has coal where their heart should be, so I'm really not surprised that you don't like it Mario.

    37

Will Ferrell is annoying and extremely boring and unfunny.

  38. 38

    extremely entertaining… great xmas movie!

  39. 39

i LOVED elf! so good! although a broadway rendition? probably not going to be the best… will ferrels personality really makes the Buddy character.

  40. 40

Elf is a brilliant movie - but Elf without Will Ferrell, I'm not so sure - he IS Elf.

  41. 41

i thought elf was pretty funny

  42. 42

recycling is great for the environment — entertainment, not so much — have all the original ideas been thought of?

  43. 43

ELF is my favorite movie of all time. im def gonna go see this.

  44. 44

    I would go see it.

  45. 45

r u kidding? Elf was a great holiday movie!!!! And just look at the cast… ed asner, mary whats-her-name, james caan, and will ferrell. come ON!

  46. 46

    yesssssss!

  47. 47

Elf one of the best holiday movies. Broadway? not to sure that would be any good.

  48. 48

What do I think you ask? I think you're an asshole. So you're 'sure' it's going to be lame. You're priceless and ugly. This is a great idea. I'm not sure how someone (especially you) can determine a year in advance that this will be certifiably 'lame'. The Black Eyed Peas definitely should have hit you harder.

  49. 49

    ELF IS HILARIOUS!!!!!!!

  50. 50

i LOVE this movie! how can you not laugh?

  51. 51

That guy isn't the least bit funny.
