Baby #2 For Sofia Coppola

| Filed under: Baby BlabberFilm Flickers

Director Sofia Coppola has a baby on the way!

This will be child number two for Coppola and Phoenix frontman, Thomas Mars, who already have a 3-year-old daughter together, Romy.

And the two are already thinking of ways to turn their baby into a master mind!

"I heard the story that if you play Bach, [babies in the womb] get smarter," said Mars.

Ha, cute!

Congrats you two!

I'm soooo Happy for Sofia! I'm Huge fan of hers and Phoenix!
I alway wish that Perez would talk more about her and her beautiful family. :)

I'm still shocked that such a bad actress could turn into a good director.

she should start making movies again.

Oh I'm so happy for them both :) Thomas is an amazing musician and I've been a fan of Phoenix for a long time. Congrats to those two, Romy must be so excited to be a big sister!

playing classical music for your unborn child, or making them watch baby einstein will NOT make them smarter. intelligence is not just nuture, it's also nature. what an idiot.

Whether the Bach in the womb thing works or not it is clear you were not exposed to it. At best some Julio Iglesias.

Music in utero is supposed to aid in the formation of more formed dendrites(?), or brain pathways. I don't recommend giving a baby 'a job', though. Too much pressure and they shut down. Give them plenty of opportunity and exposure to a variety of cool stuff, and watch them go, and make sure it's fun for them. If it seems fun to you, but not for them, move on to something they like.

I put the headphones on the belly, and now have a kid in university on scholarship with marks in the high 90's. Not loud! so as not to damage hearing, and only when you know they're awake and kicking so as not to disturb their growing sleep in the womb. You never know. At the very least the baby might love music all their lives, which is a gift in itself.

    Re: ap076
well you couldn't be more wrong: that guy actually studied classical music from a very young age, he's now the frontman of one of the most prominent indie bands.

Love her. I love the movie "The Virgin Suicides." Congrats to the beautiful couple. God Bless!

Wow…she's aged. I haven't seen her in years. Remember her in Godfather III? Her acting was horrible but she got to kiss hottie Andy Garcia…yummy! Congrats to her and baby #2.
