Frank Miller Talks 300 Sequel!

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, graphic novelist Frank Miller discusses his follow-up to his mayjah hit, 300! The project, titled Xerxes, is set 10 years previous to 300 and there is already interest in turning it into a film. Considering the original earned $456 million at the box office, we're not surprised!
"It's the battle of Marathon through my lens," said Miller of the project. "I've finished the plot and I'm getting started on the artwork."
He's taken research trip to Greece and learned that the history and myth begin to blur, which only helps the story.
"The fact and the myth are inseparable and, believe me, when you go sailing for a while in the Aegean Sea, you start believing in Poseidon," he continued.

He needs to cast a young, built guy. By the time this makes the screen, Butler will be nearing 45 years old (or past it). He's always out of shape with his man-boobs and old looking skin (years of smoking). Lots of better man candy to choose from.. not old man butler.

You really can't remake a movie like 300. It's a classic and the story line is over and done with. If you're going to make the sequel, then you're going to have to start all over and come up with a new topic considering most of the characters are dead and there is no other plot to play off of.
What's it gonna be called 302?
You can distinguish between the myth and the actual history of the fight at Marathon. I don't see where the line gets blurry; I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually believe Theseus was in front of the Athenian army when they fought against Persia.
Now that I think about it, a movie about the myths of Theseus 300-style would be freaking amazing. =]

It's not a sequel, it's a prequel. It takes place 10 years BEFORE the battle in 300.
