Simon Cowell Definitely Wants The X Factor On American TV
We love this idea!
Simon Cowell has confirmed that British hit The X Factor will soon be heading stateside:
"I think the show will go to America. It has to go to America. There has to be an American version of the show. To not make The X Factor in the biggest market in the world would be crazy."
The X Factor launched in the UK back in 2004 to search for the hottest new singers and it is the show that brought us the lovely and talented Leona Lewis!
We'll be watching!

how does x-factor differ from american idol? seems like almost the same show to me.

Really, now? For what? Aren't we already over-saturated with Idol?? Do we REALLY need a second singing contest show? No thank!
The only way X-Factor will make it in the U.S. is if it replaces American Idol.

there are very few differences between xfactor and american idol so i don't see the point in making american idol 2 (aka xfactor).

Well, American Idol, America's Got Talent, Dancing With the Stars - they're all based on UK shows (Pop Idol, Britain's Got Talent, Strictly Come Dancing) so I guess Cowell thinks he can sell yet another to the US. I think he's just greedy.
And as for the similarity between X Factor and American Idol - this year X Factor has gone for live auditions in front of big audiences, crappy group singalongs in the live shows, and horrible over-choreographed sequences, all of which are ideas he's taken from American Idol, so yes, they are very alike and getting more similar by the season. Don't know why he's bothering with X Factor in the US as it's virtually American Idol anyhow. Still, never one to sell us short, is he?
x-factor is WAY better than idol…one thing after auditions the judges choose who the contestants will be that make to the live performances… and two the judges each gets a group (boys, girls, groups, and +25's) and actually mentors going to rehearsals and choosing the songs the will perform on the show… if he does bring x-factor here he better bring DANNII MINOGUE along!!!

How much money does this guy need? The X Factor is already in nearly every European country (my personal fave is Italy… always lots of drama and crying) already. The main difference between AI are that the judges are competing as well and you see a LOT about rehearsals and personal lives of the contestants. Of course, I haven't seen AI or UK X Factor for years, so maybe they ARE the same now.

There is already American Idol.. what do we need with another singing show ? Someone just wants another paycheck ! A real tv show would be nice. BBCA showing more programs would be even better !
I understand X-Factor is more of an all ages thing, than the limits American Idol places on contestants' ages. I also understand that America's Got Talent includes more than just music. But really do all three of these need to occupy space on American TV. Idol is still draws TV ratings but given some recent "failures" it is not showing an ability make marketable artists as in the past.

Idol is tired. xfactor has the added reality show conflict between the judges. It's a bit more interesting to watch than a straight forward talent show. even if a lot of the conflict is fake. it's also hilarious how dramatic it is. I hope they don't change it too much. It's a ridiculous show.
American Idol is actually a copy of Pop Idol which was created by Simon in the UK. The X Factor is totally different from all the idol shows; it's much better!

The x-faxtor format is such that you can enter as a band as a young male r female from the ages of 16 to 24 and over 24s.They r then grouped into 4 different groups and pitted against each other.Hence the 4 judges each get a different group.

So its probably more exciting than American Idol…..
The difference between The X Factor and Pop Idol… Is that the X Factor apart from solo singers also has groups, duos. and singers age 25 and over
