R.I.P.

How tragic.
Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry died this morning after falling out of the back of a pick-up truck during what police are reporting as a domestic dispute with his fiance Loleini Tonga.
After having being suspended five times during his career it seemed like he was finally getting his act together. Bengals owner says of Henry:
"He had worked through the troubles in his life and had finally seemingly reached the point where everything was going to blossom. And he was going to have the future we all wanted for him. It's painful to us. We feel it in our hearts, and we will miss him."
Henry was only 26 years old and leaves behind 3 children he was raising with his fiance.
Sad, sad.

This is old news already, even in Denmark/Europe…. sorry am normally annoyed when people say that, but this time, will say so myself….I read it earlier on the Danish news sites.
this really is a tragedy. i don't appreciate the sarcasm in your writing.
Took you long enough to post this.
Rest in Peace, such a sad time for this to happen.
hmmm . . . maybe he shouldnt have been BEATING THE BACK OF THE PICKUP TRUCK HIS FIANCE WAS DRIVING??
yeah that might have helped . . .i can only imagine what was going on a th home that would cause someone to flee from her house in a pickup truck and her fiance to be beating the car trying to get at her. .
So very saaaad!
that makes no sense at all.
"He had worked through the troubles in his life and had finally seemingly reached the point where everything was going to blossom."
AND this was a domestic dispute that got out of hand?
doesn't sound like he had everything all worked out and was beyond the troubles.
sounds like his troubles brought him down in the end.
Rest in peace Henry…
God bless the children =/
He was in the back of his pick up truck hanging on for dear life with one hand,
his other arm was broken in a game in November, as his fiance raced down the road, weaving back and forth, intentionally throwing him off the speeding truck. He landed on his head and died.
RIP Chris Henry, Cincinnati will truly miss you!
Woah! He looks like an Elf.
OLD OLD OLD news! Died at like 6:35AM EST. The copy and paste fingers must be sore from over work.
Prayers.
RIP
poor dude…..and we play the bengals team this Sunday too. RIP…play some football in heaven!!!
that's so sad. and hits weirdly close to home.
my older sister died in March of last year from a severe brain injury when she fell out of the back of a truck her abusive BF was driving. her kids no live with their a-hole dad and wicked stepmother.
i can relate to what Henry's family is going through unfortunately. those poor children. every time i see my sister's kids it tears my heart out they are growing up without their mother.
RIP.
guess they forgot to mention how he would flip off opposing teams fans, and was in a crap load of trouble at WVU….even the coach said if he didn't go to the NFL he wasn't playing college anymore. He also had a lot of woman troubles back then. I feel bad for his kids but like Tiger and his accident…there is much more to the story.
Too bad it was not Michael Vick that fucking asshole who died. We could have had an early Christmas present from Santa. Let's all pray for him to fall out of a moving vehicle and die from his injuries.
Sympathies for the family of Chris Henry. He was gorgeous - looked like a Massai warrior.
All of Perez' "news" lately is old plus he just copies it from the Daily Mail newspaper online from the UK almost word for word days after the event.
I'm a huge Bengals fan and it was great to see his talent. We're mourning here in Cincy. My thoughts are with his children….
Hey dummy, the term tragic hardly refers to the wife beating convict dying.
How are the book sales going? FAIL!
sad sad sad
Stupid moron That is all I can say, Hope this moron did not have any kids, we do not need more stupid people in this world
RIP Chris- sending prayers for your family. You will be missed on and off the field.
Some people are really rude. He might not had made the smartest decisions in the world, but he was still a human being. everyone makes mistakes. this tragedy hit the people of Cincinnati hard. my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. its going to be hard for the Bengals to play on sunday, but we got this : )
WHO DEY!!
all for you #15
Sad, Sad indeed. Nice of you to post this….like, 8 hours after he died. But-ya know…McDonalds offering free WiFi was a helluva scoop! Bang up job!
I know a lot of you asssholes here are going to have some negative things to say, but hold your tongues. He died young because of stupidity and being caught in a certain moment. He hadn't lived long enough to have fully enjoyed his time. I'm 27… This makes me sad.
RIP…what a shame. it sounds like he was finally on the right path in his life. All my prayers go to his family and friends, stay strong!
so sad, he was an amazing player. bengals and all of cincinnati lost a great player today.
Cincinnati is still in shock.
R.I.P.
Re: I Hate Micheal Vick – your comment was a bit too strong and over the top.
Re: Edgenet – you are a pathetic human being to say that about another person who you do not know and from what it sounds like you know nothing about Chris Henry…yes he had some difficult years but he was finally turning his life around…regardless of the "domestic dispute" that had happened.
We have been mourning in Cincinnati today. He was an amazing athlete who was trying to better himself and his life was cut way too short. Who dey nation is going to miss him
Re: ur rude – Re: emilyjordan – Re: laidback – i love it so much when the high-handed, self-righteous moralists come around to perez's blog to tell us all what we should and shouldn't write about celebrities. makes me laugh my ass off.
Wow, this is sooo sad. What a tragedy. Chris Henry, you will be sorely missed. False! You won't be, except for Bengals fans (and they're a bunch of slack jawed hillbilly trash anyway). Good people die everyday, so when you hear someone refer to the death of Chris Henry as a tragedy, it's a bit ridiculous. The guy was a part time football player and a full time douche bag. He was blessed with unbelievable physical talent and the opportunity to make millions for catching a ball, yet he was constantly suspended because he was incapable of acting like a decent human being. Weapons charges, assault, DUI, and contributing to the delinquency of minors. He took everything he had for granted. He had worked through his problems and was at the point where everything was going to blossom? Don't make me laugh. This all happened because he was chasing down his wife during a domestic dispute. I'm sure if he'd gotten her out of that truck, he probably would've beaten the crap out of her. However, because he professionally runs fast and catches a ball, this is supposed to be a tragedy? Get real people.
I was wondering when you'd post this. It's such a sad story…
i am truly stunned that some of you can be so incredibly inhumane. he was a person with family and friends that cared for him deeply. he leaves behind children. he was trying to turn his life around, and you are mocking him when the man hasn't been gone a day. he was becoming the player and person everyone knew he could be and you are insulting him. everyone has their faults, and he clearly had his, but this truly is a tragedy. he was a human being and extremely well loved in cincinnati and by everyone who knew him so shame on you.
and please use your brains, he clearly wasn't goint to "beat her". his arm was in a cast. and he jumped in the car after her and she clearly was swerving which flung him from the truck. she had no visible injuries, and the police call even said he was banging on the window as she was driving clearly so she would stop. obviously it was a fight, she left, and he chased after her. is that something ridiculous to think of? sure, jumping in the truck was unsafe but had she not been driving recklessly this would not have happened. it's pretty presumptuous and disrespectful for you to assume this was because he was going to beat her. you are disgusting. i'm sure you wouldn't want someone to speak so disrespectfully about you and your life when you pass on, so why don't you have the common decency to not do it either.
rip chris. you are and will continue to be so incredibly missed.
people this is not old news, it just happened this morning and it is a tragedy. i don't understand why you people could be so rude about a person's death
Re: ShaqtotheFuture – thank you for being one of the sensible ones around here. i've never understood why people feel the need to bestow sainthood upon the newly dead. especially when they clearly were anything BUT saintly in their lifetime. it's silly and pointless.
This guy was an idiot. Wonder if he learned a lesson. What took u so long to post this.
so tragic he was so handsome some now his kids will never know who he was
i come here to read the comments, it's like people in hell complaining.
Re: ShaqtotheFuture – you're a pathetic human being. even his team mates said he was turning his life around and that things were indeed changing. you have no idea what was going on during his domestic dispute, whether he was right or wrong it doesn't make it just that he died. i believe in karma and that will affect you and the rest of the ignorant people who posted negative comments on chris henry. no one is god, no one can judge, we've all made mistakes and what matters is those of us who try to change. you speak as if he was a murderer. you're all sad individuals.
It is a sad here in Cincinnati. One I do not appreciate being called hillbilly trash. Geographically Cincinnati is in the in the middle. Anytime that someone loses their live due to senseless reasons, yes it is a tragedy. Now, there are three small children who will never know what there father was really like. That is who we feel sorry for. Chris is gone now and NO ones hateful words or acts can hurt him. Yes, Chris might have made some stupid mistakes, but we are all human. People forget to mention that he did change his life around and tried to be a better human being. Oh, but I am sorry you will never hear about that. We live in a sick society that is too worried about tearing people apart then helping build people up. If you live you life thriving off of people's short comings then I feel very sorry for you. Anyways, our prayers and thoughts are with the Henry family and the Cincinnati Bengal Organization.
Re: tigrrrlilly –
im not saying what you should and shouldnt write about celebrities. im telling you that he was a human being. he has three very young kids. have a heart!
Re: this is ridiculous – Please, use your brains. Last time I checked, it doesn't take two arms to punch somebody in the face. Do I know for a fact that he was going to beat her if he had been able to pull her out of the car? No. I just used what I know as facts to come to a possible conclusion. Chris Henry was a classless goon. Considering his history, it wouldn't be completely out of the ball park to assume he was capable of hitting a woman. I'm sure he jumped on the back of that truck because he wanted to talk out their differences in a calm and respectful manner. I'm sure she was speeding away and ignoring his banging on the window because she was afraid that foul language might be used. Whatever. Like I said I don't have ALL the facts. It's just my opinion. On another note, I don't have to worry about people smearing my name when I'm gone because I don't live my life the Chris Henry way. You seemed to miss the point of my first post. You wouldn't be calling this a tragedy if he didn't play football. You probably wouldn't call it a tragedy if he didn't play for YOUR team.
Re: JayRock – "I believe in karma and that will affect you and the rest of the ignorant people who posted negative comments on Chris Henry."
So you believe in karma? You think that my negative comments about Chris Henry will give me bad karma? That's pretty interesting. If I have bad karma from a couple of negative comments, just imagine how bad my karma would be if I had a criminal record that included illegal weapons possession, assault, DUI and contributing to the delinquency of a minor? GASP! That sounds like Chris Henry. So he must have had REALLY bad karma by your standards right? You must believe that the way he chose to live his life had something to do with his death, since you are a firm believer in karma.
p.s. I love that quote of yours at the top of the post. It's the most ignorant statement I've heard in a while. Do yourself a favor and read what you've written out loud (several times) before you commit to it. This will serve to make you sound like less of an idiot.
Re: ShaqtotheFuture – i completely agree-
i am so sick of people assuming the best of others to the detriment of innocent victims. honestly, use your fucking brain. the man had a history of outbursts, his fiance was obviously scared shitless, as were passing motorists. if you cant put two and two together here, then you really are an IDIOT.
Re: ShaqtotheFuture – and just by the way, its idiots like those that ALLOW domestic violence to happen every day by turning a blind eye to it. . .
domestic violence, happens, its horrifying, and ignoring it doesnt make it go away . . .
He was arrested earlier this year. How is that "getting his act together"? He jumped into the back of a moving rtuck, a suicidal act and an ugly end to an ugly life.
He looks like the aliens in that new Avatar movie.
Re: ShaqtotheFuture – you talk as if it isn't possible for someone to change and develop. if you want to look at the facts, look at what everyone close to him is saying. everyone's saying he was trying to change. you see he's involved in a domestic dispute and immediately assume it was violent. you are not following facts, you are judging him based on his previous behavior, which is ridiculous. i also don't think you seem to realize that people get into serious arguments all the time, it was a poor decision for him to jump in the back of the truck, but it doesn't mean that he was going to attack her. no one is perfect, not even you. he would not have been resigned if there wasn't belief that he was changing his ways. just because he plays for the team i happen to like doesn't mean it would be any less sad if it happened to someone else. you said no one will miss him besides bengals fans, which is disgusting. he is a person with family, children, and friends. he would still be missed. your argument is utterly ridiculous, and you obviously fail to realize that people have hearts and care about the loss of a person, whether they are a football player or not. you're such a big person for mocking those who think the better of people. if anyone's trash here, it is you. RIP CHRIS HENRY
sincerely, cincinnati hillbilly trash
It is tryua tragic day here in Cincinnati. Despite any past antics off the field, Chris Henry was in a better place and making positive changes. He was no saint, but I dont know anyone who is. I would regularly see him with his fiance and kids and could tell how much he loved then with his sincere and kind gestures. He is with God now - God has a higher role for him in heaven. Sunday we will be thinking of #15 and know that he is watching down from heaven. God Bless his family and the Bengals.
Hey Star82, you look like an UGLY DUCKLING … show your real pic, ugly ass.
Coming from someone that lives in cincinnati this is a tragedy! he left three young children that love and will miss him. he did have some bad years, but that is in the past and at least he was tryin to better himself for his children and his soon to be wife. as for what happen no one knows the whole story! For any one to die at such a young age is sad! but rip chris henry!
I don't usually reply to stupidness, but some people really don't have a heart. I understand that you might not be a Bengals fan, a football fan, or don't live in the Cincinnati area but somebody loss their life and three kids are now without a father and worst of all it's the Christmas season. Chris Henry was turning his life around, and anybody that follows the Bengals knows his story this year. I don't agree with his antics off the football field but that doesn't mean he was a bad person he made stupid decisions and had friends that were not a positive influence in his life. The Bengals organization will play hard this weekend if anything else for the memory of Chris Henry and Coach Zimmer's wife. Been a great season for the Bengals with more than their fair share of tragedy, this will unite the team. For all you haters and naysayers find your conscience and your heart. RIP in Chris Henry. Who Dey!!
I am not a perez fan. But in all honesty when it comes to something of this nature, I haven't seen once that perez tries to make fun of or give humor to a tragic event.
Im Aussie so haven't heard about this. What a beautiful looking human being. Ive just seen Avatar and he could be a Na'i. Regardless a great loss.
R.I.P You will be soooo missed! XoXo
So sad. Is it just me or did he look a little like a Na'vi from the new movie Avatar?
This is such sad news. He didnt even make it to 30. R.I.P. My condolences to his family.
OMG. He looks like a brown Na'vi from Avatar.
Re: ShaqtotheFuture – You're nothing but AWESOME. Absolutely agree with you. Re: baloneytitties – You too
Tragedy? Srsly? Yes it's sad that someone could squander so much talent by being a total thug. I never wish for anyone to die young and violently, but "tragedy"? His college coach called him an "embarassment". SIX, yes SIX arrests in less than 4 years. Two suspensions from the NFL since 2006 and the Bengals dropped him for a few months following his last arrest in 2008. How can you "turn your life around" in less than 2 years? Perez, you don't let anyone off the easy normally. Who knows what he would have done to his finance had she pulled over after he chased her down the street and bashed on her window? Had a polite conversation? This guy had a well documented history of drug & alcohol abuse, firearms charges, assault convictions, rape allegations. Would you pull the car over if this thug was banging on your window? Perez cried like a little bitch when Will.I.Am slapped him. C'mon.
Who are you people to judge this man. He made his mistakes in Cincinnati yes…but when you die is that how you would like to be remembered, by all your mistakes?he is facing the ultimate judgement from the ONE person who matters. Chris Henry was a father and a son. There are 3 children that have lost the father that THEY love!!! Have a little human decency and respect! Spare me the rude comments. Cincinnati will miss you!!!!!!
Re: ShaqtotheFuture – well this Cincinnati fan hopes you have a horrible tragedy in your life! Maybe then you will realize that sometimes people should just insert foot in mouth!!!!!
Re: this is ridiculous – You are so right…..I cannot believe how ignorant some of these people are!
Re: DeadlyNightshade – all 3 of you are ignorant and disrespectful. Your mothers must have taught you well obviously if you speak ill of the dead. Way to show your true upbringings.
why are people calling us hillbilly trash. most of us live in a city where there aren't any hillbillies there. so you're probably just trying to make yourself look good by making fun of other people. jerks
I don't understand how his fiance just left him there in the road, I mean if you see someone fall out of the back of a truck that you at one time cared about or still do how could you just leave him there and not tell anyone?
RIP…..but he looks like an Avatar
