How did he get a beer in the first place?
4-year-old Hayden Wright of Tennessee was found wandering the streets after stealing some of his neighbors' Christmas presents, including a dress that he was wearing, after having drunk half of a 12 oz. Bud Light!
His mother offered the explanation that he may have been looking for his father, who is in prison, saying that little Hayden wants to get in trouble so he can go to where his father is.

"Kids just do things like this…." Um….. what 4 year old stumbles out of his house at nearly 2am drinking a beer and then breaks into his neighbor's house, steals their presents and puts on a dress?! I'd put money on it that someone or someones put him up to this. Like father, like son. I hope this boy and mother gets the help they need.

I admit I saw this on the local Chattanooga news yesterday and knew the AP would pick up the story. What up, Miz. Remember the FLO cheerleaders signs? The kid is obviously very attached to his father regardless of his father's behaviour… he's 4…he doesn't know better. The kid broke the child proof lock and was able to open a beer by himself, so he was clearly determined to escape. While a situation like this is rare, it really could happen to almost anyone.

Way to be judgmental without actually paying attention to any of the details in the case. The mom (1) put child locks on her doors, (2) put the kid to bed like normal - this happened at 2am, NO parent can be awake 24/7. If a kid (even a 4 yr old) wants to sneak out, they can. (3) CPS looked into it, talked to the mother, and AGREED that there was nothing more she could have done to prevent it and that she was actually being responsible. The dad's fucked up, hence she's leaving him. The kid seems pretty fucked up too. The mom is the last person you should be blaming. She's in a rough position, trying to raise a difficult kid alone and get a divorce and there was nothing more she could have done to prevent this other than have motion detectors or alarms or something on her doors. Bet she gets them after this. Do your fucking research people before you just start judging and blaming everyone else…

First I have a son who has ADHD my son could open any child lock, and lock period, he was a danger to himself he was so hyper I always had to watch him. It is his mother's fault. That child needs to talk to a therapist, she needs to keep a watch on him EVEN AT NIGHT. You can put an Alarm on the door, but she has to get up off her butt and not say these things happen. And why would they put that little boy on the news like that. Now he has a label he probably won't get rid of. What a freaking mess.

I saw video of the inside of her home and she has child proofed the daylights out of it and the beer belonged to her father and it was in a cooler out back.
