On The View yesterday, Elisabeth Hasselbeck made a terribly insensitive blunder when she asked Stanley Tucci if his wife had seen his new movie, The Lovely Bones.

The poor guy's wife has been dead since last May.

Needless to say, it was an awkward situation.

      Plus, it would only be insensitive if she knew that his wife died. she didn't know. it's not like she asked that to be mean. He brought up his dead wife and the movie. most people would assume she's still alive after he said something about her.

      He BEGAN to speak about his wife, her reading the book and stuff ( and most in public would never guess ..NEVER..that she was dead). it was a little strange probably from his part to speak about her this way, like she´s still alive

      And she asked: "Had she seen any PARTS? look PARTS… of the film?" She could before…why not? As his wife was so interested in the book and the hole story..she could follow his work on that movie

      He just answered : "NO"

      Wow, The View removed this footage from You Tube and its website. I see why, as I was watching this when it went down. Tucci was, of course, the class-act that he always is and handled this well. Both Hasslebeck and Sherry Shepart should be fired! They are idiots and spend their time promoting the GOP agenda.       I don't think that Elizabeth made a mistake. I think the fact that his wife had passed away was the reason for the question. If she were alive, why the hell wouldn't she have seen the movie? I'm assuming there was at least one premiere. Isn't it customary for wives to accompany their husbands to those types of events? I believe the fact that she didn't explain why she was asking the question proves that she was trying to respect him. Not to mention the fact that Mr. Tucci was the one who brought his wife up in the conversation, not Elizabeth. They specifically asked if HE had read the book. If it was a sore subject, he might not have elaborated and stated that it was his wife that had read the book and that she said he shouldn't play the character because the character was so horrible. I did notice that when Elizabeth asked if his wife had seen the movie that he answered rather quickly and didn't try to elaborate. If I'm wrong and she did make a mistake…. Well everybody makes those. That doesn't mean that she's dumb or insensitive. It seems that you might just not care for Elizabeth, Perez. Could that be the reason you pick apart everything she does without actually thinking your "argument" through? I'm just sayin'.

      I am no fan of Elizabeth, but I can understand that mistakes happen as should you team Mario. Talk about a pot and kettle situation.
      I could not get through The Lovely Bones novel it was just too much for me, I hope the film is more accessible.
      While on youtube I found a Tucci 80s Levis (501) add. He is pretty hot.
