Macca Backs Rage's Cowell Protest
Simon Cowell isn't going to be happy about this.
Even though Paul McCartney performed with X Factor winner Joe McElderry this past Sunday, the Beatle thinks it would be funny if Rage Against The Machine beat out Simon's artist.
The band is currently trying to take down Joe in the #1 spot by urging fans to download their 1992 hit "Killing In The Name".
McCartney told Sky News that he would be pleased if Killing In The Name got the #1 spot explaing:
"Because it's out of leftfield you know. Everyone expects Joe to do it, and he certainly will sell a lot of records. And if he gets to Number One, good luck to him. But it would be kind of funny if a band like Rage Against The Machine got it, because it would prove a point."
As of right now McElderry's Miley Cyrus cover of "The Climb" is 9,000 sales behind Rage's "Killing In The Name".

im scottish and i live in london, i bought my download yesterday, even although i own the album. and im so fed up with upper class saying because the song has a naughty word in it and if i listen to it im obviously going to have to stab someone and going to prison .. and its brilliant that people like stephen fry and paul mccartney are backing it. Not because i used to be a massive fan back in the day but because its proving a point. and i do like the x-factor for the record but only for the show everything that comes out of that machine covers ballads and vanishes off the face of the planet! all aside from my terribly boring rant (i appologies) its a bit of fun! everyone needs to keep buying only two more days until the chart show (fingures crossed).
With that kind of endorsement 'Rage agains the machine' will win!

Let me think about that for a minu..Rage Against the Machine easily. It is interesting that X-Factor artists are having #1 "albums" when American Idols winners can no longer crack the top ten or runners up tumble down to 30 in their third week during the holiday gift buying season.

Anyways point is Macca should stay out of it. He was just the tiniest bit shite on the xFactor that night so he's a fine one to talk about who should be no1. Not saying he didn't have his day. the man is a legend but his voice is fading and he was a bit crap to be honest on the xfactor.
