From China, With Love

We're here!!!!! Perez and la familia are currently enjoying a very cold yet super amazing Beijing.

Inspired by the amazing time we had with our wifey in Japan this summer, we decided to explore a little more of Asia and take the fam to China for Christmas.

We still have Shanghai and Hong Kong on our itinerary - and possible Macau (mom loves gambling)!

On Saturday, we ventured to the Great Wall of China and it was soooooo impressive. Not only is it hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years old but it's so huge and our tour guide laughed when we asked if the workers got the winters off when they were building. That would be a NO.

People would spend their whole lives working there and dying there. We are really lucky we were able to visit it under different circumstances!

We've been enjoying the local cuisine - a lot - and our favorite thing to do while visiting a foreign country, just walking around.

      I JUST GOT BACK FROM VISITING THE GREAT WALL AND IT IS FRIGGIN FREEZING UP THERE. THE CHINESE GIRLS WERE WEARING KNEE HIGH BOOT (THAT IS A BIG FASHION TREND IN CHINA THIS YEAR) AND THE BOOTS HAD HEELS. THE WALL IS A SHEET OF ICE AND THEY WOULD FALL DOWN IT! CRAZY. I HAVE BLOND HAIR AND THE CHINESE WERE ASKING IF THEY COULD TAKE A PICTURE WITH ME BECAUSE THEY HAD NEVER SEEN BLOND HAIR BEFORE. GLAD I WENT BUT SO GLAD TO BE BORN IN CANADA!!!!
