Spielberg Goes To War

Snooooze!
Steven Spielberg is doing another war movie. Based on the World War I novel by Michael Morpurgo, Warhorse follows "the relationship between a boy and his horse in the backdrop of the war."
You dropped Harvey to do this crap, Steven? Really?

I saw "Warhorse" on stage at the National Theatre. It was beautiful. The life-size horse puppets were unbelievable. I would look forward to this film, but I'm sure that hollywood will ruin the beauty and real meaning of the play.
I think Warhorse sound like a nice sentimental story, but Harvey would definintely have been better!!
.
Mario et al are such dicks. This is a children's book also accessible to adults. It is under 200 pages and was a critical as well as commercial success for Michael Morpurgo (I know book success is foreigh to you). It does not hold back on the violence of the war but still has a message of warmth and hope.
Saying Spielberg is doing ANOTHER war movie is like saying Monet is painting ANOTHER garden scene. Saving Private Ryan, Schindlers List, and Empire of the Sun taken together are a great trilogy covering different theaters of WW II.
As to WW I films there are a fraction compared to those about WW II. 3 of my favorites are Gallipoli, All's quiet of the Western Front, and Seargent York. Good for him not doing a remake of a Hollywood classic.
come on perez, you could not even direct a movie like the hottie and the nottie
I don't know about the movie…but I am not digging this tie Steve.
Actually it is not crap!Warhorse was adapted to a stage play that first opened at the National Theatre of London and now continues in the West End. The story is great and oh so touching, a real teardropper!I just hope Spielberg will make it justice!!!
Hey Perez you should read the book its incredible
Your taste in celebs, fashion, movies, ethics and music is more than questionable so why should Spielberg care what a gelatinous slug like you thinks? Have you even read "Warhorse"? Your habit of passing judgment on things you know nothing about just marks you as the ignorant pig that you are.
Extremely naive of you to knock a book like War Horse without any knowledge of it. Highly rated book, followed up by a fantastic theatre adaptation, and now deservedly a movie to accompany it. Makes perfect sense.
i live in london and 'Warhorse' is currently on the West End. It's one of the most beautiful pieces of theatre i've seen in a very long time. So Perez, don't hate until you've seen it!!!!
It will be good; it's actually a great story.
Expand your mind, Perez/Ghost Writiers
It's Steven Spielberg. Enough said.
Perez are you on your period or something? Why are you being such a bitch this week? This is a beautiful story not "crap" as you so delicately put it. Grow some cultural sensitivity for god's sake.
Actually, i think he can do a really good job of this.
we'll have to see when it's done won't we?
why doesn't spielberg do a movie about an annoying, gay, gossip blogger with bad hair who turns into a vampire?
Warhorse is a beautiful play and if you knew anything about culture or the rest of the world, you would understand the wonder and awesomeness that is Warhorse. Speilberg will do great things for it on the big screen.
fail
I also saw "Warhorse" in London (National Theater).. it was truly awe inspiring with the wooden horse puppet. Do your research. It takes place from the viewpoint of the horse… it's unlike any war story because it doesn't focus on humans.. it focuses on the horses and what they go to. The main horse's story is him trying to find his original master after the General (His 2nd owner) gets murdered. You're gonna feel like an idiot when it gets Oscar buzz.
i hate when perez trys to judge these actors and directors that are more talented then he will ever be spielber was making classis brilliant movies before perez was even born
Re: alm0stxxfamous –
The story sounds really interesting and one that I will definitely go see. It will probably be much better than half of the crap that is being made today.
Yes, Steve. Listen to the creative genius of Perez and make an hour long tribute to worthless pop songs and shirtless 13 year old boys. That's REAL quality.
I'm not too crazy about animals being used against their nature to "act" in movies.. but the plot of the movie actually sounds really touching. I'd pay $10 to see THIS rather than some Angelina action shit you're always raving about.
Come on Perez. A story of a boy and his horse? Sounds right up your ally. Or would you have preferred your method … a boy and his sheep?
