Eurostar Train No More!

Great timing!
Eurostar Trains is on everyone's holiday shit list right now as they have just announced they are shutting down their services indefinitely! How fortunate for all the folks looking to travel through Europe this Christmas!
After the disastrous incident this weekend that found more than 2,000 passengers trapped inside their trains for more 15 hours, the company decided to suspend their travel routes in order to look over the mechanics and design of their trains. Though they explained that the "glitch" was caused by "acute weather conditions in northern France," and after some testing, the trains ran smoothly, they are still insistent on holding off any travel until major upgrades can be done to their system.
The cancellation has forced more than about 31,000 people in Britain, France and Belgium to find alternative transportation for the holidays and considering the terrible weather conditions they are facing right now, that won't be easy!
That just sucks! We truly do feel bad for all those people! Certainly, it isn't the time of year in which you want to be stranded!
Update: On Tuesday, Eurostar will partially resume service between Britain, France and Belgium as the investigation continues.

Great timing since the UK government was trying to sell it to a private company. Why they need to sell? The UK is completely broke. Zimbabwe wont even lend them money. The UK model is what OUR government wants to follow with their social programs.
Probably not shut indefinitely, drama queen.
Is it really so hard to check your posts for errors? Editing is very important in journalism.
ohh juicy gossip for u perez!! According to Natalie Smiths family member Tony Romo was texting Natalie while he was still with Jessica!! What a a jerk!! Guess they r together but keep it on the low low low!
how is this 'celebrity gossip'?
Honestly holiday travel is a coin toss predicated on weather conditions. I have had to cancel holiday travel plans on the holiday due to the weather in New England once. The worst part, I was stuck with my (former now) partner and my "mother-in-law", I still have a touch of PTSD over that one.
I would rather have my holiday plans changed than travel on a less than checked over train system, personally. They must have their reasons for canceling service.
Errrr, no
If you meant "How fortunate for all the folks looking to travel through Europe this Christmas!" to be sarcastic, keep in mind that sarcasm doesn't translate well through text. It makes you sound like an asshole. Proofreading would be a huge benefit to this blog, considering the quality has actually gone down in the last year or so.
if this is true then why has then why are they reporting in england that they are resuming partial service tomorrow to get rid of the backlog of passengers?
The Eurostar will start running again on Tuesday.
Please get your facts right before commenting, Eurostar is owned by three government bodies; SNCF (French), SNCB (Belgium) and EUKL (UK), the UK railways are already privatized so nobody is trying to sell them off. Also, the consequences of a train company has nothing to do with the NHS. Which may also have it's faults but nobody is suggesting that America make an exact duplicate of it, just that everybody should be entitled to medical care; rich or poor.
What are your sources anyway? No british papers are reporting indefinate closure, there are 2000 eurostar workers trying to sort everything out in order to resume services on Tuesday who are unaware of this and eurostar's website says otherwise too. I advise reading the BBC website
Perez, it's not Eurostar's fault, after all, they've running trains for 15 years, over nine million passengers per year with no problem. This really is exceptional weahter. Better they should cancel the service and find a solution than take the cha,nce that more people will be stuck in the tunnels. BTW, they weren't stuck in the tunnels for 15 hours. It was actually five hours, but when they got to the British side, the trains there were held for the other hours.
Funny, I just watched BBC News and heard nothing of an INDEFINITE closure. I smell another made up BS story. Perez's sister is useless at reading actual news.
.
They are resuming partial services, as of an hour ago. Nice job, idiot.
Sorry but this ISNT true - if you look on eurostars website, they have closed the service for now, but will resume a less frequent service from tomorrow.
And USA news needs to get its facts straight before it starts slating the way our country is run…im not saying our govenment is any good, but dont for one minute think we actually support them - Gordon Brown wasnt voted in, and whilst labour was, that was before everything took a turn.Trust me, the 'UK' as so many people generalise, is no where near as bad as some people make out!
Errr if you watch BBC news or even go on their website then you will read that they shut the line to resolve the problem and the service will start running again tomorrow. Get your facts straight.
Oh and "slite" Eurostar already is owned by a private company and I don't really see the connection between social programmes and transport.
Re: slite – i think you should stick to your own country's problems and not bother talking about ours! you have no clue about england. and perezs news is bullshit so you shouldnt be commenting anyway
Yeah, it does suck, but would you rather they kept going and have another (possibly worse) incident?
Re: slite – Wow. You're proof stupidity is alive and well on the Perez forums.
Seriously, anyone who needed to know about that found out on Saturday. Old news!!
too many europeans rely on eurostar, tgv, the shuttle etc etc…whatever you call it they wouldnt leave passengers stranded knowing full well that a lot of europeans leave their cars at home so that they can travel a bit more easily across europe in a train. btw i love it its sooo fast and sleek! lol. the train has come a looooong way
sweethomemisscongeniality-eurostar is the train that goes from London or Ashford, England to Paris or Lille, France and Brussels, Belgium. TGV is the high speed train that is run by the French that takes people from Paris/Lille to southern France and Northern Spain (just across the border), Le Shuttle is the traint that takes vehicles only from Folkestone, England to Calais, France. They are three seperate companies and when the alternatives to travel are the ferries and the planes which are also being cancelled left, right and centre at the moment, it is not surprising that people decide to travel by train. Britain is not used to the weather being this cold for this long. Yes, we need to sort it out but nobody is doing anything on purpose and leaving people 'stranded'.
I'm not surprised about that. France is an old country in which technology usually fails. Take a look at the subway trains in Paris, old, often stopped between two stations, lights going off usually, you travel in crowed wagons with people stuck to you. Reality in this country is very far from what we saw in movies.

People don't travel trough Europe thanks to the Eurostar, just between the UK and France-Belgium.
Then there are other means of transport
Re: Alberto – wow idiot of 2009!
Re: Alberto –
It's fun to see that you focus on the french, knowing that Eurostar is owned by 3 difrent countries . . .
