It's a sad day on the street.

Alaina Reed Hall, of Sesame Street and 227 fame, has passed away on Dec 17 after a long battle with breast cancer. In addition to her work on the little screen, Alaina was best known on the Great White Way for originating the role of Matron Mama Morton in Chicago.

We send our condolences to her family and friends.

I remember her as Gordon's little sister on Sesame street. She was a hard working actress with multiple film and TV credits to her name.
As to Chicago's original Matron Mama Morton:
      "So what's the one conclusion
I can bring this number to?
When you're good to Mama, Mama's good to you!"
      RIP

May her family, friends and fans be comforted during this heartbreaking time. She was a highly respected entertainer and contributor to the world of the Arts and Education. One bright side is she is no longer suffering and is in a much better place where her body shall never hurt again. R.I.P.
