Basterds Prequel?

Quite possibly according to director Quentin Tarantino.

Tarantino says he has written about 40 pages of a prequel to his hit film Inglourious Basterds and that it's a possibility the film could get made.

Apparently, it will depend on how the original does during awards season and he's also working on another project entirely, which he isn't saying much about.

The director has only revealed that it's going to be "smaller, less epic" and a "different genre entirely" from Basterds. He's planning on finishing that screenplay within 5 to 6 months.

Tarantino fans, are U looking forward to a prequel to Basterds?

I would much rather see another installment in his, "Kill Bill" series but, I will take what I can get from him :)

Oh please, no. Can't this guy ever come up with any fresh ideas? It's always 3 versions of the same movie, over and over and over.

I tend to think the nominations the film is receiving, themselves may be all the awards it is going to see. One major problem is Brad Pitt who has not gotten a Golden Globe, SAG, or Critics nomination (who did he piss off). A film tends to win more awards when it's star is nominated.
I will say this film has been full of surprises. I don't think anybody expected an over 120 million domestic gross and an over 300 million worldwide gross.

      yes yes yes

    7. 7

No. And I seriously think that movie was entirely overrated.

    8. 8

Of course. I would love anything written by Tarantino. I still continue to watch Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction - my personal favorite movies of all time.

Cooooool. I hope it follows Hans Landa! It would be cool to see an entire film about him. Christoph Waltz pretty much stole Inglourious Basterds.

Nope, don't care. I hate these cash-in movies. I love Tarantino, but still this screams "unnecessary" to me. Let him make something else entirely. "Basterds" was a fantastic but stand-alone film.

Loved Basterds, but I want a sequel, or even prequel, to Kill Bill first.

    12. 12

I would love to see more yet I don't want to ruin what I've seen. I loved it…as is.

Perez DONT your fucking read your posts before you post them? Since when does BastArds have a E in it? COME ON step up the game girl.

    14. 14

Cool, but I wonder how a prequel would work?
Based in America, I'm assuming. I dunno.

Re: TheRockChick – it's the name of the film, retardo

    16. 16

Quentin, I liked you a lot more before you bailed on your appearance on Craig Ferguson's show. Craig's a genius but it's hard for even him to recover when a guest just doesn't show up.

a prequel to a stupid movie??? PLEASE someone stop him!

    18. 18

Pez, do we really need to see "says - reply to this" after every name here?!

    19. 19

It'll probably be about the Jewish girl's life after she escapes the Nazi's.

He can do it… but I will be keeping my 10 dollars this time. Inglorious Basterds indeed.
