After two decades together, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins are calling in QUITS! Susan's rep went on the record this afternoon announcing the separation officially, saying:
"Actress Susan Sarandon and her partner of 23 years, actor Tim Robbins have announced that they separated over the summer. No further comments will be made."
The summer??? What took so long to announce this?

as for why it wasn't "announced," Mario, these are not fame-seeking people. I remember when the PLAYBOY interviewer asked Robbins what it was like waking up next to SS every morning, he said something about "If we weren't sitting here in this interview room, I would bash your face in for asking something so idiotic–we're here to talk about my work"…..or such. their private lives were private.

I agree with your description of her looks….it is as though she has stepped out of her role in White Castle and has become that hard ridden/worn looking waitress. SS makes that look hot. I just read that their children are 17, 20, and 24 (her daughter before him). Those are the same exact ages as my brother's were when my parents split. They seem to be just waiting for the youngest to be grown up enough.

To all the mean-spirited people who wrote on here about her looks, my guess is that if she went the typical Hollywood route, i.e. Botox, face lifts, etc., you'd be writing how bad she looks then too. I think she looks fabulous. They both seem like fine people and though they were not married legally, I"m sure it is no less heartbreaking for all involved, including their children. I wish them the best.
