James Cameron Thanks His Fans!
By calling them assholes and being utterly rude to them!
What a guy!
On Wednesday night, James Cameron channelled his inner Scrooge when he was approached by a fan asking the director to sign his Avatar poster. James refused and walked away from the guy, but being a true fan means never taking no for an answer.
The guy asks again and James loses it, screaming at the guy, "I don't owe you a fucking signature … just get out of my fucking personal space."
Whoa! Hostile!
Considering the response he got, the fan became disgruntle and asked a perfectly legitimate question:
"I make $15-an-hour at work to go see your film and I'm an asshole?"
Guess so buddy, although we wouldn't happen to agree.
The real assholes of the world are the ones who don't appreciate the people who help them achieve the success they are lucky enough to have.
Hope you heard that one, James!

I saw the video on this. I think the guy deserved it. He was berating James trying to get a rise out of him. I don't blame James for not signing anything. I also got the feeling the guy is or works for the pazs….

Really! Everybody shuts their mouths. And lets thank James for bringing some true to our lives. Avatar was incredible! I was shocked how he could get away with showing all this love! Dear James! You are Iconic! Avatar blew us away!
F that "fan". The guy was obnoxious and would not shut the f up. I felt like punching the dude for James. People who say they won't see Avatar now because of this are douches. Like many people have already said. That ahole probably just wanted to sell it on eBay. James Cameron is a great artist!

But understand that as someone who is a PUBLIC FIGURE, you do have a responsibility to the people who have made you famous. If we didn't exist… neither would he or his major motion pictures.
Plus, a little fucking tact would be nice. No you don't owe him a signature but there's a… more tactful way to say it.
1 fucking guy at the airport asking for an autograph? all he had to do was sign it and move on - Who gives a fuck if the guy was gonna sell it? You don't get a guarantee when you sign an autograph - Big fucking deal - Wow, this guy was gonna make what on his autograph, $5? It's not like 100 people mobbed him, I mean it's not like he's Peter Jackson, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, or Steven Spielberg…
What gets me is that there are so many of you that think this guy is a nice person and acted in the right way.
Lets remember some facts about this ahole… Prior to movies costing a average of 120mil plus to make, Cameron did several interviews stating that the cost of movies were going up, not because of the demands of salaries of the stars and above linethe workers etc.. but because the Production Assistance and stand ins cost so much.. look it up….. PA's work average 12 hours a day for 125 a day.. back when i got out of the business it was not uncommon to hire some PA's for free or for 80 bucks for the same 12 hours.. but someone like Cameron would pull 5 to 10mil plus points… of course that had no affect on the movie budgets…
That is just the start of the edge of this guying being a ahole….
I met this guy three times each time he was true to how he acted with this fan… this guy is a ahole through and through….
People in hollywood work in hollywood for the money and fame and what cames with that is you will get some people coming up to you for a photo or autograph.. like true stars, they go ahead and give the photo or autograph, if the time is not right they explain it in a nice way and go about their business…. cameron is just a punk….
I like his films but hate the man.. so what i do is purchase a ticket to a movie playing about the same time and walk into his…. easy i see his movie without supporting him..
Wow, i'm quite shocked. Didn't think he'd react like that. I saw an interview with him lately and he was so clam and placid.

Let's see, this Christmas I bought some VTech toys, Starburst candy canes for my tree, a PS3, and Carter's jammies for my kids. That means that everyone who worked for all those companies, I'm allowed to hound, since without OUR purchases, their company wouldn't be there. I'm off to go find Sony Electronics CEO and hound him in his private space! After all, if it weren't for us buying these consoles, he'd not have a salary either!

Come ON, guys — Cameron has admitted to being an arrogant prick before. As a matter of fact, during filming of The Abyss he wore a ball cap with the initials "HMFIC", for "Head MotherF**ker In Charge". From what I've read in the above story Cameron overreacted, but it's not out of character for him.

This was a complete setup to trap Cameron. The so-called fan was clearly there to bait him. Who can believe that the "fan" just happened to be at the airport–with an Avatar poster!–when Cameron arrived? The fact that there was someone filming the encounter adds to the fact of a nasty set-up. The lines the "fan" uttered, captured perfectly clearly, are clearly "written," aimed at baiting Cameron. Yes, Cameron has a deserved reputation of being difficult. In this instance, the so-called fan was the culprit in this nasty staged charade.
I will never see another Cameron movie again. I hate fuckers like him. Thanks for letting us know how he is. I hope all his movies bomb.

I agree that stars shouldnt be hounded by the press and deserve some privacy but to call a fan of your work an asshole is bang out of order. Like taking 10 secs of time to make someone happy by scribbling his name on a piece of paper would kill him. Ok so he doesnt owe him anything but being nice doesnt cost anything. What a dick he is.
I saw james cameron at the pirates 2 premire at Disney land he was with his troll of a daughter and her friends I think they all looked like gothic vamp rejects he was doing interviews and she was walking by the fans with her friends looking us up and down. People noticed cameron and would call for him she would look at the people and shout things like " GET A LIFE", "HE ISNT SIGNING ANYTHING". At the point where he was closest to me I guess some one caught his attention he was going to walk over to sign something, I assumed, and his daughter caught him by the arm dragged him back to where actors were giving interviews she told him "lets go, lets go". so I like his movies I get it but what makes you a star is humbleness, respect its sad that self absorbed, entitled people exists but ever since then I have no feeling for his movies I own the dvds cause they are classics but I wasnt going to see avatar…but I did now I just feel dirty I gave him money

He absolutely owes his fans a signature. His fan is his boss. The fans pay for him to have a car, a house, financial stability for him and his family, and the $30,000 suits on his back. I would never allow someone working for me to scream and yell at me like Cameron did. The movie-going public should fire him.
Regardless of where that poster was going, it's Cameron's job as a damned employee to sign it and make a good movie.
