Mark Wahlberg lives on a quiet street in Beverly Hills - at least, he did until the Beckhams moved in!
And David Beckham is not an easy neighbor. His presence attracts a slew of paparazzi 24/7 and Wahlberg is pissed!
The actor says:
"Man, the Beckhams. It used to be so quiet on my road. Then David moves in with his family. Suddenly we've got paparazzi hanging out day and night. Now they'll follow any car that drives down the road…I'm not telling Beckham to take his family home. I'm just not sure why he came to America in the first place. Man, we don't want your soccer. There's no way Americans are going to buy the idea of 90 minutes of running around without much happening. Thanks for trying guys, but we'll stick to baseball and basketball."
He's not gonna leave in the name of America's disdain for soccer, but better luck next time!

He has no idea what he's talking about. I'm from Seattle and since we don't have an NBA team, everyone here is all about soccer and the MLS. Beckham is drawing more people into the sport, which is becoming more and more popular.

Wahlberg is right about soccer ever being mainstreamed here the way it is everywhere else in the world. It's not soccer's fault, it's just that it's not TRADITIONALLY an American sport. However, baseball is boring and basketball does nothing for me, but I love love love ice hockey and enjoy American football. I'd rather see Lacrosse get a leg up in the USA because it was developed by Native Americans. I don't mind the Beckham's being here because Becks is just…well…gorgeous to ogle.

I had to laugh - baseball and basketball have to be too of the most boring sports ever invented! Soccer is a complex sport that requires great levels of talent to play - I hardly think throwing a ball around a tiny court and shooting into a net which is fractionally above the gigantic basketball players' heads is exactly challenging!

DUDE….have you ever tried to watch American Football? The most stop start, boring sport. NOTHING HAPPENS….some guy falls down, everyone jumps around, hugs, switch half the fucking team, go to a commercial break, then come back and do it again. I swear to fucking god I tried to watch once, ended up ageing 10 years in the space of 10 minutes….

FOOTBALL is the BIGGEST sport in the whole world. It is played in the most populated of cities, to the most secluded of villages. Put a ball down and make a goal or two, and most will know what to do…

Yes, For the ten millionth time..We americans agree that soccer is the "biggest sport in the world" We are aware of that. However the NFL beats out the MLS for most profitable league the NFL has earned 984 million as to the MLS has earned $513 million (projected). Becks tried to make soccer popular, He failed. We don't care about soccer, and after a failed attempt why is he here or more importantly why is he so relevant? He's never won a world cup ^_^
