The news came yesterday that Bristol Palin, daughter of thankfully unelected vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, has thrown down against her former boyfriend and baby daddy in a custody battle.
Her lawyer went to the courts to file a motion to bring the custody proceedings of Bristol and Levi's son Tripp to a close, as well as file a "protective order," presumably for Tripp from his father.
Is that really necessary?
Levi is no stoopider than his grandmother and you let the baby hang out with her!

I just read on a real news site that she asked for things to continue as they've been, with Bristol retaining 100% physical custody and Levi gets visitation. She also asked that his mother not be allowed to have unsupervised visits with Tripp bc of her drug problems. Where did you get your story, Mario??

You seem to have buried the leads here. Bristol was not granted sole custody of Tripp. A court proceeding will take place in open court without the use of pseudonyms as Levi wanted. The Palins wanted thing done in closed court.

There is no story here. Palins want to protect their grandson from an unsafe environment. Levi's mom is a druggie, has an arrest record. And Levi himself is posing for porn magazines and is basically blabbing all details of the Palins family life with his own spin for a few extra bucks. He has demonstrated that he can't be trusted. Thus, you only allow him supervised visits. No story there. This is standard operating procedure in all custody cases.

So the Palins want to keep the baby from being alone with a druggie Levi's mom, but she can still see the baby if supervised. The Palin's aren't being fair in this…….but why is that such a shocker? They are in it for all they can get and wont stop at anything. I'm not an American but they are doing a bad job representing American's.
The story goes that Levi is actually being rather fair and only wants shared custody, what is so wrong with that? He's a father who wants to spend time with and get to know his baby boy. Bristol, who can't seem to do anything without her mother telling her what to do, is being greedy here and doesn't want Levi to see him at all which is really selfish. i am sure there is more to this story than that but still, he isn't asking for full custody at all, he just wants shared, what is wrong with people?
Re: Justsomeguy – Well, Bush supposedly had experience, and the country was already in trouble two years before he left office. Unfortunately, many Republicans seem to think that our problems began in January of this year . . . If you were reading the papers BEFORE Bush left office, you would know that people had begun losing homes in 2005. Californians seemed to think that they would continue to buy homes that would double and triple in value in five years, and look at the mess we are in now. Bush's wonderful NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND is in the crapper, wouldn't you agree? I teach in California, and across the board, no matter what the student's ethnic background or how wealthy their parents might be, graduation rates continue to decline.
So, anyway, before you start making uneducated comments, as so many posters do, pick up a newspaper. I sure you have noticed how Bush has queitly sunk into the background. Re: Candy Barr – fyi - No Child Left Behind was NOT a Bush program, he just signed it into law. You can thank good old Teddy Kennedy for NCLB, just like in a few years - after tons of taxes before we see a benefit - the health control act. His wife was telling our representatives to vote for it in his memory. How sweet. She gets the Senate insurance program and we get this crap.
I teach also and dislike NCLB. My own daughter suffered for it. But I'm smart enough to acknowledge and give "credit" to Teddy.
