Levi Vs. Bristol - Open To The Public
A teeny tiny victory for Levi Johnston and the ongoing custody battle over his and Bristol Palin's son Tripp.
A judge has granted Levi's request to make the court proceedings open to the public.
Of course Levi would ask to make his private matters open for all to see!
Bristol requested to keep the case out of the public eye, arguing that privacy would be best for their son, Tripp. She also asked for a gag order so no one involved in the proceedings could talk about the case and all files would be under anonymity.
Levi fought back saying:
"I know that public scrutiny will simplify this matter and act as a check against anyone's need to be overly vindictive, aggressive or malicious, not that Bristol would ever be that way, nor that I would. But her mother is powerful, politically ambitious and has a reputation for being extremely vindictive . . . So, I think a public case might go a long way in reducing Sarah Palin's instinct to attack."
Sexy Sarah's daughter is quick to deny his claims saying her "mother is not involved in the case" and believes Levi is only wanting to make the proceedings public "for his own self-promotion".
We couldn't agree more!
Let's hope for a quick custody battle so we don't have to listen to either side more than we already have!

If I were Levi, I'd ask for the proceedings to be public as well. I'm not going to dispute that he is trying to get publicity out of this… because it's quite possible he is… but if I were fighting for my child, I'd do anything I could to keep my ex on their toes. Making this public will also keep the "he-said-she-said" claims from making it into the media (after the trial, I read about the gag order), which means LESS of me hearing about these damn people! We should all celebrate! PS– a judge wouldn't have granted Levi with open proceedings if he thought it was only requested out of self-interest. There has to be more to this than what was released to the media.

I'm on Levi's side on this one. It is absolutely in his best interest to have the court proceedings open to the public for exactly the reason he gave. Bristol and her family have access to the best lawyers - whether you believe that Sarah will be involved or not and whether you believe Sarah is vindictive or not, it is the powerful lawyers that Levi has to fear. Anything that helps even his odds in court he absolutely needs to go for.

That's above and beyond what a "simple" custody matter should be since we all know Sarah has been all over the tv saying he could come over anytime. Yeah right.
