Wicked Sets Broadway Record!

During last week's bustling tourist season, the Great White Way brought in a staggering amount of $$$$$.
Wicked was the most impressive, raking in $2,092,745 and beating its Thanksgiving record of the top grossing week in the history of the Rialto.
Coming in right behind was The Lion King with $1,714,566, The Phantom of the Opera with $1,248,943, Shrek the Musical bringing in $1,055,261 and the revival of A Little Night Music with $985,662.
Not to mention, In the Heights increased their house by 53% and the new hit Fela! climbed by 22%.
Pretty impressive considering the recession! Plus, the theater makes everyone forget their problems!

wicked wasnt even that great
I hate to be predictable, but I don't give a shit.
THAT LAMBERT queen would be much better of returning to this, than what he is attempting to do now. He was made for this kind of thing and excelled. This rock-n-roll cartoon thing isn't working.
wicked..such an amazing experience..money well spent.
I love Wicked's Soundtrack and Ive seen clips I have yet to see the play, but I am dying to see it. I love musicals my faves have to be Ragtime and Beauty and the Beast (which was really impressive considering it was based off a Disney cartoon, but Disney did win an Oscar I believe for it) Anywho love musicals and so happy you post news about them, but what is up with the constant use of Great White Way I get it its what Broadway is but I think there is such a thing as overuse.
Re: parpalermo –
Silence, you ignorant heathen.
Wicked has been a huge success for some time now. I'm not surprised.
Re: WildOrchid1298 – I believe you mean the Original Cast CD of Wicked. Soundtracks do not exist for Broadway musicals.
Wicked was awesome !
We were at the Thanksgiving Saturday night performance and were blown away by the production. This show is pure magic and I would thoroughly recommend it.
Loves it!!!!
I saw Wicked in Sydney and loved it. Some bits I did find boring though. Hope Cats is good too!
Six and a half years and still at the top of the Broadway heap. I was fortunate enough to see it twice with Idina and Cheno. Just a fun time with nice music and incredible acting/voices. I can't wait until this gets made into a film. There is so much potential to blow it up big time.
when are they going to make this into a movie i strongly doubt it's coming to greenville tx i want to see it so bad
Money well spent. I saw the Halloween performance in Wichita Kansas and it was AMAZING!!! Congrats to all who made this production what it is; pure bliss!
Wicked is absolutely amazing! I don't think the awe factor will translate into a movie, the end of the first act, "Defying Gravity" is pretty darned awesome but the scale of that wouldn't be such a gut punch of joy on the big screen. My jaw hit the floor when I saw that! I was more impressed by Wicked than any other Broadway production I've ever seen, including Les Miserables, Phantom, Miss Saigon, etc…..
Call me a traitor, but I was 100% entertained by Wicked.
Could have at least put a picture of Kristen and Idena, Lard ass.
wicked was an amazing show - it blew my mind - I cant await to see it again!!
Re: Mercury9 – It's Kristin and Idina, lard ass.
Plus, Stephanie J Block is loads better than Idina Menzel. She can hit that high F in Defying Gravity without screaming it.
Re: parpalermo – To ParpalerHO Begone- befor someone drops a house on you too! You have a small soul if Wicked 'wasn't that great'…
