Amazing!
For the fifth consecutive week, spunky Susan Boyle is still on top of the charts! Her album, I Dream a Dream has sold another 510,000 copies and remains comfortably at #1 on the Billboard Top 200.
To date, she is quickly approaching the three million mark, which if she surpasses, she'll beat Taylor Swift with the best selling album of the year!
Not bad for a someone who was basically unknown just a year ago!

It would be a bit of a rush job for her today and tomorrow to reach the 3 million in domestic sales mark. Of note, I Dreamed a Dream is now the first debut album ever to bow at No. 1 and stay there for five weeks in a row since Billboard started keeping score in the 1950s. Quite an achievement.
Mary J Blige did bow at #2 with 330,000 albums sold. Not bad but quite a drop in numbers from her previous albums. I think the non-starter of a single "I Am" (which I love) languishing in the 60's on the Hot 100 and in the teens of the R&B charts, plus I have not noticed any vigorous promotion for the album, can account for some of the decreased album sales.

I love Susan voice on some songs, I just dont like the choice of songs on her cd so I will not buy it. Good for her anyway.
If the record year was over Dec 31 Taylor would win, but this year the sells week is over Jan 3 so Susan will get it if she keeps this up.
