This would become Vanessa Hudgens most important role to date, and knock Mariah Carey's career down a bit.
Sources are revealing that MiMi and V-Hudge are in talks to star in a new flick as a mother-daughter singing duo trying out for a reality singing competition show, like American Idol.
The details haven't been ironed out yet, according to an insider, because the role would require Mariah to accept that she is old enough to conceivably have a teenage daughter. As the source explains, "She’s a little sensitive when it comes to her age.”
Yes she is and offering her this role is like offering her an AARP application. Hah.
Besides, she's just proven to us with Precious how she can be a serious actress. Why would she agree to be in a flick that sounds like Glitter meets Band Slam meets two hours of our lives lost?!
Still, if she does make it, we'll probably have to go watch it. Just to see how much of a train wreck it'll be.

Lastly didn't Hugh Grant and Mandy Moore mine this territory with the satire AMERICAN DREAMZ which failed commercially (7 million) and critically and that was at a time when Idol was at a PEAK rather than its current transitional state, especially with last year's winners not having the commercial success of previous winners right out of the gate.

Mariah to Release Two Memoirs "Remix" Albums
MariahDailyJournal is able to confirm that Mariah will be releasing two separate Remix albums for Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel early next year.
In addition to the main Remix album which will comprise of R&B/Hip-Hop/Pop remixes, the other will be a Dance album which will all be Jump Smokers remixes of tracks from Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel.

Honest answer….no, I don't see Vanessa as a serious actress at all but Mariah I have to give her two thumbs up. She did amazing in Precious and I'm sure if Vanessa and Mariah do a movie together it's not going to work out in the box office and it will just turn into a complete downfall. A big no no no. I have to say that Vanessa is trying way too hard to become a serious actress that the only movies she has done well is High School Musical. She should just stick to kiddy movies and leave the serious acting to her beloved boyfriend, who has done his job extremely amazing.
