Morgan Freeman's Voice To Replace Walter Cronkite's On CBS News

Out with the old and in with the new!
CBS has made the executive decision to replace the legendary Walter Cronkite's voice with Morgan Freeman's to introduce the CBS Evening News. CBS News President Sean McManus explains:
"As comforting as it is to look back on the great career that Walter had, we're looking forward now and we just felt it was the right time to make the move that at some point had to be made. This seemed like the appropriate time since Walter's passing [on July 17] to make the move."
They also want to use Morgan so they can record different introductions if anchor Katie Couric is doing a special report or on location.
Pretty good gig for Morgan, but how quickly we forget about the dead!

Good for him. I love Morgan. The only better choice would've been James Earl Jones. Now THAT'S a voice people would listen to!
THIS JUST IN:
MORGAN FREEMAN'S VOICE TO REPLACE ELECTRICITY

MORGAN FREEMAN HAS THE VOICE OF GOD
He played Nelson Mandela in Invictus last year with Matt Damon. I felt so inspired and awed by that film. Thanks M! He should win an Oscar, another one I mean.
love him.
Awesome for Morgan great voice and actor. I was thinking James Earl Jones as well but I think he is a little too old now. Voice me be starting to shake.
ooohhh NICE! He has an AMAZING Voice! There should be more movies with him Narrating a story ! They would relax and tuck me in for bed EVERY NIGHT! Its that soothing~!
I thought at first
this was a cool idea
but then in the back
of my mind hear him
speaking 'fuck words'
to his granddaughter and
that ruined it.
Great for Morgan, I like the tone of his voice.
BTW it could be no worse than NBC's use of Michael Douglas for their news intro.
is he going to talk about molesting his grand-daughter?
how quickly we forget that Morgan is a douche… just as bad as Tiger Woods
.
.
.
MR FREEMAN IS A MARVELOUS ACTOR!!! DYE HIS HAIR JET BLACK AND HE COULD TOTALLY STAR IN A MARVELOUS
FILM ENTITLED "TIGER: GOT WOOD?"
.
.
Morgan Freeman has a nice voice, but the OBVIOUS choice, the definitive choice, would be James Earl Jones. They MUST have offered it to him and he turned it down.
yeah everyone forgot morgan is a nasty nasty old perv….one who should not be allowed to play god voice, a president or any man of honor for that matter anymore….now that i think of it thats probably why he plays men of honor on film because he is and never will be a man of honor just a nasty pig….
Morgan's voice is everywhere. And hey, wasn't Morgan going to marry the niece he raised since childhood? What happened with that?
Morgan has a very nice, soothing voice but this is disrespecting Cronkite who is an ICON! People in their 40's + (a wholelotta people) won't think it's a good idea CBS (aka, Can't Be Sneaky). It's a mistake but if they were going to pic anyone Morgan, James Earl, or Alec Baldwin would be good.
He has a really nice voice…
Love Morgan. But will never watch CBS news again. Walter created CBS EN. This is their thanks to him. Will be watching Diane or Brian now. That is after 28 years of watching CBS News. Loved Katie.
