On Sunday, January 10th, the Springfield family and the rest of the city will be celebrating their 450th episode, not to mention it's the animated series 20th season!

Take that Law & Order!

The crime drama may be the longest-running prime-time drama, but The Simpsons have the title of longest-running scripted nighttime series.

And as a special treat, the yellow character obsessed will have the pleasure of viewing an hourlong documentary following the "Once Upon A Time In Springfield" episode, from Super Size Me's Morgan Spurlock, titled "The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special in 3-D on Ice."

Couldn't come up with a shorter title, Morgan?

Will U be tuning in???

After all those years and episodes the Simpsons continue on STRONG in the RATINGS.
In it's time slot it comes in second only to Sunday Night Football. The rest of Fox's Sunday animated line-up (THE CLEVELAND SHOW, FAMILY GUY, AND AMERICAN DAD) all come in third (out of 4 shows) in their time slots and had lower numbers in total viewers as well as in the demos.

As for Law & Order it is actually TIED with GUNSMOKE for the title of the longest-running prime-time drama. With NBC's lowest RENEW/CANCEL index it should by all rights be off the air, but as NBC does not want to share the title with the former CBS western, NBC has actually already renewed the show for a 21st season.

THE SIMPSONS RULE…….PERIOD!!! I'm 32yrs old & have been watching The Simpsons since I was about 12yrs old (even back on the Tracy Ulman Show where they got their start). I've been raised on The Simpsons & now my 5yr old daughter watches them. I think I'm going to cry over this precious moment of realization.

Fuck FOX. They find out NBC's Chuck is premiering the 10th, followed by an episode the 11th, so they air this during Chuck premiere and move House up. Bitches.
