Don't You Forget About Artie, Says Howard Stern

On his morning show yesterday, Howard Stern decided to comment on the recent hospitalization of his pal and co-host Artie Lange.

Though he wouldn't give any details as to why he was in the hospital, stating he was respecting the families wishes, he had no trouble telling all of us how wonderful Artie is, regardless of his "demons."

Howard said:

"We all have our demons. Artie has given this show tremendous moments of great comedy. He's a tremendous contributor. He is a good man. Don't forget how great he is."

Along with his vote of confidence in the guy, Howard also diffused rumors that they would be replacing Artie shortly and also announced that he was contemplating putting together great moments of Artie's to air on the radio show later this week.

That sounds like an on-air memorial to us! Things must be really serious!

we should legalize drugs so more people can end up like Artie..or even worse, like Ledger or Murphy or that Johnson chick.

He actually nixed the idea on todays show becuase he was told he wold actually have to participate in it. Howard has been phoning in his show the last few years so expecting him to do extra work was not going to happen.

Catch up Perez, that is yesterday's news. Howard said he wasn't doing it today. Howard doesn't give a fuck about Artie only about the little doves in Central Park, getting out on time and how many more days until his next vacation.

    16. 16

Two of the ugliest men alive. Wow.

    17. 17

Drop dead, Artie! What a homophobic, racist piece of shit. Like anyone would want his fat, ugly, sweaty ass. Karma's a bitch…isn't it?

    18. 18

Lucky us when Stern takes another day off MKL holiday we can hear old Artie clips.
11 weeks vacation, every Friday off and several misc. day off.

Wow is he ugly! And the short one isn't very good looking either.

    20. 20

fuck the fatboy who cried wolf. stay home, artie. you don't deserve the honour of being on the stern show. you've taken it for granted for too long.

    21. 21

I hate artie on the show. I would not be unhappy if he overdoses or quits. Howard has given him way to many chances.

    22. 22

      Get better soon Artie…

    23. 23

Our patience with Artie has worn thin. I can only hope Howard has had enough of the nonsense too.
Grow up and stop trying to ruin your own life, Artie.

"Respecting the FAMILY'S (read not ARTIE"S) wishes…….speaks volumes. He is incapacitated (and not in the usual way) by something medically. Perhaps Gabriel or Lucifer will have some company soon.

Wow…such harsh words from people about Artie. I personally love Howard, Artie and the entire gang. I commute 2 hours a day and look forward to hearing the show everyday….even the re-runs. It's no secret that Artie has a lot of demons working against him….because he has shared his life with us. I'm worried about him and have been for a long time. I've listened to the show for a long time and I feel like I know them….may sound silly but we've spent a lot of time together over the past decade plus. Artie you've made me laugh aloud countless times and I wish I could return the favor. While you're talking alot of smack about him, he's a very generous guy and donates his talent to helping others with benefits shows. He generous with his money and always seems to be helping someone out financially. I wish Artie the best and I hope that he gets better soon. Give him a break. Whether you like him or not…..he's put his life out there for everyone to hear and for the most part he's been honest with his problems. So he's not attractive to you personally but looks aren't everything. He's got one of the greatest gigs in the world. Lucky man I just hope he can recover. Artie if you ever get to read this thanks for everything and I hope you feel better soon.

Re: imajones – I, too, love Howard, Robin and the gang and have since I began listening in 1986. I consider them my extended family. They make me belly laugh everyday, and i can't say that about many people in my life. And to be honest, there's nothing quite a true belly laugh. It's a great way to start your day! Feel better Artie. We love you, and the rest of the gang :)
