first of all i can't believe the closest hospital was 10 hours away. Thats absolutely ridiculous. Second of all…just as much as it was a really close call and really scary, this is too fucking hilarious…AHAHAHA had to let that one out

Oh jesus! He's so cute. Thank goodness he's okay. I guess it'd have been hard to prevent that since chopsticks are utensils…

      "14-month year old"?

    6. 6

Damn! The baby's parents should be ashamed of themselves!

My son took chopsticks to the mexican restaurant a year ago. When leaving he tripped and the chopsticks pierced his septum. In one side, out the other. He was three years old. I pulled them out, gross. The next week he took his bike down the driveway, and broke his nose when he crashed. Never ending story with this kid.

Re: LaFleur – A fork is a utensil too. It doesn't mean you let your child run around with one.

    13. 13

Oh thank God he is okay!!!! What a cutie, his parents need to watch him more, where the hell were they?? He just a little baby, u have to watch them like a hawk.

What a gorgeous little Tot. I have got an Asian husband so I got the chance to have a baby like that : )

    15. 15

no reason to blae the parents! you cannot watch them all the time! some parents are lucky some parents are not!!!! who knows this baby was such a mazochist! give em a break

    16. 16

      that's horrible, i'm glad he's okay.

    17. 17

I actually chuckled at the lead. Then it wasn't so funny after I watched the video. =/ Oh gosh, poor thing.

    18. 18

thats cuz he was doing math.

Re: MalibuSunrise – I really doubt a 14 month-old baby had the cognitive ability to be a "mazochist" as you called him. You're right that people should be blaming the parents. It was an accident. The thing that is crazy is how far away the hospital was from their home! I read this story last night on CNN.com and was amazed that some people have to drive 10 hours to a hospital. Glad the boy was okay!

If there was a hospital that was 1000 miles away from the closest hospital.
That means that you are living on the outskirts of a city.
And this family is probably living in a shack.

Remember China is still a developing country, not everyone lives in the metropolis, or in single homes or apartments.

And kids living in developing countries tend not to get the nutrition they need, and therefore resulting in smaller babies.

he IS a cute baby, wow! my mom was a nanny to a nasty staring flat faced zipperhead for a year, that one was gross.

    24. 24

Poor guy.. He's adorable, glad he's okay. I feel a little guilty for this, but i must say, I actually laughed a little seeing him on the operating table with the chopstick out of his nose.. :p

Lesson: Don't let your baby play with chopsticks! More importantly, there shouldn't be sharp objects anywhere nearby.

    26. 26

No wonder I can't use chopsticks…. Not even the Chinese know how to use them properly.

    27. 27

Re: Perez=Jackass – first of all, the chinese practically have to use and eat with chopsticks almost everyday of their life. I'm chinese and my family, cousins and I were learnt how to use chopsticks at the age of 3

so preventable. i don't let my 2yr old run around with a fork. parents should watch their kids better. especially ones of that age. i know that things are going to "happen" but this is the fault of the parents. plain and simple.

    31. 31

OMG i feel so bad for the kid!

    32. 32
