James Franco Brings His GH Character To Life Off Screen
Is this what he was talking about?
Like us, many were confused about why the hell James Franco joined the cast of the daytime soap General Hospital.
But now it's beginning to look like his role is part of a bigger picture.
In the spring, James will merge his on-screen character "bad boy" artist Franco with an off-screen project when his stint on the show ends later this month. Apparently Franco will be participating in a gallery show at New York's Deitch Projects and will be shot for a "special episode" for the soap.
What is this guy smoking!?
Franco mentioned the plan in the Wall Street Journal in December saying:
"After all of the Franco episodes are aired, my character's storyline will be advanced in a special episode filmed in a 'legitimate' New York gallery. One more layer will be added to this already layer-heavy experiment. If all goes according to plan, it will definitely be weird. But is it art?"
This just keeps on getting weirder and weirder.
But we will admit, we're a little intrigued to see what James Franco "the artist" has created.

James Franco has been amazing on GH. By being on the show, he has only expanded his fan base.

All I know as a long time viewer of GH his Franco character has been chillingly HOT. I'll miss him when he's gone.
Yes, he's hot and all, but I don't think he's been great on GH. He's been an interruption. I'll be glad when his part is over.
Okay now I'm intrigued. I'm still not gonna watch damn soap opera, though.
I can't wait for him to come out of the closet. All he has done lately reminds me of a formerly straight man trying to make himself all artsy to cover up his homosexuality.

It makes sense if you follow Franco's educational interests and projects. He is a bright man.

I hate all soap operas, but love James Franco
the people on soap operas can actually act and they need to actually act rather than be a overly sexy whore otherwise they get replaced. he is really really good on gh. his character has brought a better story line to the show rather than another natural disaster.
james franco is perfect so he can do whatever he wants.
Judalon is correct. I'd never seen James Franco act, but I'm absolutely loving him on General Hospital, which I've watched on and off for many years. I wish he would stay longer too
