Manslaughter!
Bad news for Dr. Conrad Murray.
Looks like prosecutors are finally ready to seek an indictment again Michael Jackson's doctor on a charge of involuntary manslaughter!
An anonymous police source revealed Dr. Murray would be "prosecuted on a theory of gross negligence."
However, LAPD must follow procedures and present the case to the district attorney before an indictment can be sought.
As for Dr. Murray, a spokesperson for the doc and his attorney claims Murray has no comment and that he never administered or prescribed anything that should have killed Jackson.
But things aren't looking good for Dr. Murray.
Several witnesses have been interviewed, many of which were with Jackson during his last few days. Not to mention that authorities have medical expert witnesses lined up to testify about standard care.
Now all that's left is to wait until the district attorney's office conducts an internal review and determining when the grand jury will be available to hear the case.
Wonder what the jury will decide.

i'm disappointed. it shouldn't be manslaughter. it should be homicide. this piece of crap should be put away. no decent doctor would supply a patient with those kinds of drugs outside of a clinical setting. murray is a killer.

I am no law expert but I wonder why not negligent homocide? I am unaware if this is a more serious charge than involuntary manslaughter and maybe more difficult to appeal.
The D.A.s office should make quick work of this and once a grand jury is seated an indictment should follow easily. The old saying "you can get a Grand Jury to indict a ham sandwich" applies.
This case should be a slam dunk. Ask a parade of MDs if they have ever used propofol at home, the answer will be no (this was inappropriate). Put an anesthesiologist on the stand with footage from an O.R. where propofol is administered and the patient reaches the desired state of not breathing before the anesthesia ventilator takes over the breathing.
End with testimony and statements he has made about leaving the room and the 911 call where a MD is administering chest compressions on a BED. Case Closed.

Re: justme09 – I think he deserves some jail time. But you make a great point about his right to practice. When I last checked he was still able to practice in Nevada and Texas, he needs to be suspended especially now that the legal process is going forward.

The only justice in this case would be if that motherfcker were burned at stake or at least get life in prison or a death sentence for killing our beloved genius MJ, but the vultures who hired him will probably make sure he gets a slap on the wrist. Those evil people have their people planted in every sector of society to make sure things go their way. Karma will bite him in the ass though, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Me and other MJ fans haven't been able to dumb down ourselves just so you can get a better understanding so I'll take another shot at it for old times sake… When someone committs a crime and is brought to justice they are labled guilty of that crime. When someone passes away on their own accord it's considered committing suidice (Evan Chandler.) Michael does not fit under any of these categories. So get over your sick love/hate for Michael.
Re: ap076 – Exactly. The testimony from other doctors alone is going to put Dr. Murray and his legal team in a hole that they won't be able to drag themselves out of. Of course they are going to say that Michael was told about the dangers and wanted to use those meds. but the fact of the matter is that due to that good ole Hippocratic Oath that Dr. Murray swore to, no matter what his patient may have known or asked for he is the person responsible. That is a fact because had the same drug been administered in a hospital setting, with the patient knowing the dangers, and w/ an anesthesiologist present, had that same patient died at the hands of that doctor. That doctor would have been held responsible. In this situation it only makes it worse b/c this incompetent doctor did this outside of a hospital setting which is a big no, no and without the appropriate safety precautions available and he can't say he didn't know that, that would be safe and according to policy. He is going down.

Hope they fry his ass, but four years is not enough. They really should revoke his passport before he runs though.
1) I was on a ventilator afew years back for 5 days with the very same drugs that were given to Michael. Yes when you are revived you feel as if you had the best sleep you've ever had, but it takes afew days to even remember your name, so it's impossible to get those drugs just for sleep and be able to wake up and go back to work the next day..
2) It's been in the news that this child who accused Michael of pedophelia, that it was the father that wanted the money and that Michael was innocent… Accusing Michael all these years for something that he did not do is terrible..
3) This doctor giving Michael these drugs is murder.. Manslaughter is a crime in itself..
4) Most people know that you cannot give CPR in a bed since it is too soft.. A doctor who trained and got their license knows this, thus this "doctor" must have gotten his lisense illegally or someone took the boards for him..
