A switch to Wednesday night from Fridays did NOT help Ugly Betty in the ratings one bit!

The show drew just over 5 million viewers and easily got beat by not only The People's Choice Awards, but The Jay Leno Show, too!

Ouch!

We smell a cancellation!

      well what do you expect?
      thier first wednesday night was against an award show…come on. and besides NBC is still being dumb putting UB on at 10. Betty will only work at a 8 or 9 timeslot.

      I dont think so. Betty is still getting better ratings than other shows like gossip Girls and Vampire diaries. She still has a chance!

      Aw, I'm sad they didn't do well. I love the show. I watched Wed. night but had to watch the second half online Thursday because I had to put my little one in bed. I hope they keep the show on!

      i personally like this show caus its motly fluff and fashion and would be sad if it was tooken off the air! but it does have to get a good plt line soon caus right now its just kinda everywhere!

      I watched it and it was great — now that everyone knows it's going to be on Wednesday the ratings will improve next week.

      Can't you just see Pervez spanking his monkey thinking about another failed sitcom? The real reason is that they didn't invite him to do a cameo. This is becoming a familair theme in this site as he wishes sooo bad to be the failed actor again that he once was. Anyone that has success in movies or TV drives the poor queen into a frenzy because they are living the life he dreamed of and sadly just didn't have the talent. Keep going to the gym fatass. You can weigh 98 pounds and still not have the stardom you wanted to achieve.

      I love Ugly Betty and I am glad that it was moved. I really had no idea that the season had started over again because it has been on hiatus, but once people see that it is back then hopefully it will pick up… but 5 million is a lot better then its Friday night slot so stop trippin.

      Solution: 8:00 PM Ugly Betty, 9:00 PM The Middle, 9:30 Modern Family, 10:00 Cougartown and 10:30 whatever comedy is leftover. DONE.

      this is a great show that needs to be put at the 8 o'clock or 9 o'clock spot

      Ugly Betty was a one season hit wonder.
      It was too silly and too kitchy to have any staying power.
      Don't see any reason for it to stay on the air.

      What did you expect? They didn't really advertise WELL that the show was changing time slots… it is on too late… they put it the first week back in that slot at the same time as leno and an awards show. It's not a surprise. Also, people were probably not expecting it to be on this week as many of ABC's lineup has not started up again for 2010.

      I wouldn't be surprised if they got canceled.
      The shoe was really good in the first and second season.
      In the third, and fourth (this season) seasons they lost it.
      They fired too many good actors, and too many good writers.
      And the plot line this season with Daniel being in a cult?
      Too weird.

      The show in fact had lower ratings than the previous owner of that time slot Eastwick.
      ONCE AGAIN FOLKS UGLY BETTY DID NOT DIE BECAUSE IT WAS PLACED ON FRIDAY NIGHTS, IT WAS PLACED ON FRIDAY NIGHTS BECAUSE IT HAD ALREADY DIED IN IT'S THURSDAY NIGHT SLOT TH.E PREVIOUS SEASON.
      Last year the show, on Thursday, went from 10 million viewers and ratings in the 20s to barely 6 million viewers with ratings in the 50s.
      I watch the show, but I am ready for it to end. Stick a fork in it it is done.
      The show has the 2nd worst renew/cancel index on ABC behind only Better off Ted and in fact it's index is lower than the already cancelled Hank and Eastwick.

      The sad part is we will loose perhaps the only (?) portrayal of a Latino family currently on broadcast TV.

      NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Ugly Betty is one of my favourite shows!!!! They are even glamming her up this season and she's supposed to be getting the braces off!!! The dialogue and the plots are hilarious - how can they think about cancelling …..sob….

      Oh Perez! I remember a time when I actually enjoyed coming here to read your site! I also remember a time when you loved Ugly Betty! I guess they never offered you a guest-spot on the show. Since when is 5 million viewers a failure? I'm sure you wish YOU had 5 million viewers on any given day!

      I was so confused when I saw it on, I thought it was a mistake or an old episode! They didn't advertise that it was moving… grrr!! Now it has to compete with American Idol! WTF!!

      Nooooo!! I've been watching Ugly Betty since it first started. I hope they don't cancel it. They should get rid of " The Middle" and show ugly betty at 8 pm and "Modern family" at 9. Those are my 2 favorite comedy shows.
