This weekend marks Avatar's 4th weekend in the #1 spot at the box office!
Although the numbers are down from New Year's weekend, the 3D flick is expected to earn $48.5 million by the weekend's close, securing it at #1!
That's a huuuuuge difference from the weekend's #2 film, Sherlock Holmes, which has been projected as earning $16.7 mil by the end of Sunday.
Can the James Cameron flick continue on to week 5 at #1????
Guess we'll have to wait and see!

I went to see it Friday. Bought Tickets for the 7:20PM show, but the theater was packed and the movie was about 10 minutes in. So decided to change the tickets for the 9PM and that showing was almost sold out as well.

It is now the number #7 Domestic Blockbuster of all time. In the next few days it should pass Shrek 2, E.T. and Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace to become #4.
By the end of next weekend it will surpass the original Star Wars.
Avatar at 429 million domestically will either pass The Dark Knight (533 million) next holiday weekend or shortly thereafter. Whether and then when it will pass Titanic domestically is anybody's guess.
The film should get 9 Oscar nominations (any more is doubtful), without any acting nominations. That alone will bring more people to see the film and if it wins Best Picture even more. Titanic's record domestically would then fall.

O…M…G I saw it today. AMAZING!!! Every time I try going, its sold out even though I was early. I ended up going at 11 am this morning. It was my first 3D movie. I laughed, I cried. I was literally at the edge of my seat.I loved it. Its my 2nd fav. Movie.The Sound of Music still number one.

I think about life with the Druids, we had loved our land like no other. I think about Mars, and how we eventually want it to be a planet that we can live on. I think about the ocean that has not even begun to be fully discoverd. Everyone saw the plants and animals in Avatar, looked very ocean like right?
I could go on forever about the symbolism in this movie!
Its amazing that we can watch a movie that was filmed years ago, and see that it has come true already, yet it was ahead of its time then.

i have to say that i watched Avatar 3 times of which one time in IMAX 3D and its a complete different experience than watching it in 3D only. I mean this movie is just mind blowing and will be copied in terms of CGI's from 1000000 following movies. Fat Fuck Mario doesn't even care if he post's rubish because he just likes ass of celebs which are poor enough to spend time or a pic with him…..hate that waste of space! Guys please go and watch AVATAR in IMAX 3D you won't regret it it's worth every penny or euro

Kudos to Cameron for doing something few filmmakers do… he had a vision, and by damned, he spent what he had had to be spent to do it. He went for the audacious spectacle and it sure as hell is that. This is one of the best "in the theater" experiences you will ever have. This is one of the very few films where you know in the first 5 minutes that no matter how good your home theater is, you can't bring it home like this. This is something you just can't miss in 3D
I just saw this movie over the weekend and it was AWESOME! Just goes to show that Perez's taste is shit since he has been claiming this will tank from the beginning. And his little review was that is was "okay". Dumbshit Perez! It was way better than ok! Now the numbers are proving it! Lol…
Re: Lunatic.me – Ummmm….not quite. I did watch that one as well this weekend and it was ok. I was suprised that it wasn't as violent as I would have imagined Quentin to be…but not the best by far. But you are entitled to your opinion!
