A man by the name of Paul Peterson filed a petition to have an "independent guardian" appointed by the courts to watch over the octo-spawns' money, but an Orange County judge shut him down!
The judge called the order an "unprecedented, meritless effort by a stranger" in court on Friday and ordered Peterson to drop the matter.

Paul Peterson was a child actor, best known as Jeff on the old Donna Reed Show. In 1990, following the suicide of former child star Rusty Hamer, Petersen founded a child-actor support group, A Minor Consideration, to improve working conditions for child actors and to assist in the transition between working as a child actor and adult life, whether in acting or in other professions. He wants to make sure that Suleman does not spend all the money that she makes off her kids, that there will be some left when they are older.

Paul Peterson is a former child actor. He now devotes himself to protecting the rights of exploited children. He is not cut from the same cloth as somebody like Gloria Allred. He really cares and has made a difference.

My child briefly worked as a child actor until I realized Hollywood eats it young and directed his energies down another path.
I met Paul Peterson at a Minor Consideration meeting for parents new to the business. He is a one note Charley with the money issue. The abuse as I saw it was that kids are expected to audition seven days a week as called with no schedule , weekends at the producers whim. If he wanted to protect kids from bad stage parents he would fight to have an audition schedule for minors. Such as an alphabetically based Monday /Wednesday for group A-J and Tues /Thurs group K-Z with all call backs Fri., allowing kids to have regular schedules for other activities and family time. When I suggested this he dismissed it as ridiculous. Producers have to follow child labor laws, this could be one of many regulations already in place. He went back to the money. Only 2% of ALL SAG members make enough money to barely support themselves and most of that 2% are adults. Yes, Cougan Act the money but let's put the emphasis where it belongs, on the childs right to a balanced life. I witnessed WAY too many selfishly driven parents and I know the many good ones would be happy to have scheduling rules for the sake of the kids. Just my two cents as a former stage Mom whose kid is now a Phd candidate at CU Boulder; the credit he is most proud of….

Why did he care? Because he wanted any money that she made off of those children to actually be around when they were old enough to get it.
Why didn't she just say, "Sure, Paul. Thank you for showing me how to set up my kid's finances."?
She fought him because she wanted all of that cash (and let's hope it never amounts to much) for herself, not her children.
By the way, Penneyx3, if your child actor now has a PHd, then your experience with Mr. Peterson was not very recent, and may not reflect his opinions and actions in 2010.

Duh, Paul Peterson was a child actor in the 50s and 60s whose parents stole all of his hard-earned money. He is now an advocate for working children and has been instrumental in the passage of laws protecting working children. He just wants to make sure all the money "earned" by those kids doesn't go for lip implants and Botox for their crazy mother.

A few months ago a judge granted her permission to do a tv show BUT the money her kids make she is not allowed to touch. I doubt her show will last long, none is going to watch it and with no viewers it will be canceled…I am sure social services is sitting back building a nice big fat case against her
