Santigold Producing New Devo Album!

Amazeballs!
For their first release since 1990's Smooth Noodle Maps, the legendary Devo picked singer Santigold to produce songs for their untitled new album.
Frontman Mark Mothersbaugh said that they received offers from 20 producers, including Snoop Dogg and Fatboy Slim, to help in the studio, but trusted Santigold to remix their tracks.
"They’re just, like, my band idols. Them and The Smiths. But DEVO, I made them pull out the red hats and pose for a picture," said the singer.
The highly anticipated album is due out this spring! Can't wait!

Such wonderful news! I saw Devo in concert "back in the day". They did a cover of "There's A Place For Us" from West Side Story. Love 'em.

Over 20 years ago, I worked on Bob Mothersbaugh's car at his house. I saw one of his kids eating cereal from one of the hats.
Bob told me they were a set of bowls his wife bought at a store in Ohio where they were from.
I hope he has a new car. I ran out of duct tape and coat hangers keeping his old one running!
Highly anticipated by whom? Devo was okay in the context of the group's time, but I didn't notice they were gone, so a come-back isn't anything I would "highly anticipate."
Re: La Garse – They really haven't been gone - working on TV and movie soundtracks, and some art. I even watch Yo Gabba Gabba, just to catch Mark and listen to the music those (all the) guys produce.

I worked for a rock promoter once and could get backstage to most any show… I had the chance to meet my precious Devo, but after actually meeting a few other 'stars', I couldn't do it. I stood outside Devo's door. I didn't want to pop my 'mystique bubble'. Plus, I didn't want to bother them with all my fan-generated drooling.

Who the f is Santigold and why exactly is she "amazeballs" again? God I hate that term too….Love old Devo btw but anytime an older band tries to come out again and be "hip" they usually fail. let's hope they don't.
